What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"Such a cute little hidden gem. This is a grab and go no seating area. Coffee had good flavor but not very hot, Came out barely warm. Got the hero bagel, it was really good fresh tomatoes on top. Also tried the vegan donuts they were ok. Had a lot of icing not sure they were worth $4 each. All in all a pretty good place!"

"This café is a hidden gem across the street from DePaul—you really have to look for it to find it! A friend recommended it to me, and I’m glad they did. It’s a super small spot with a cozy vibe and a nice outdoor seating area. Because of the size, you should expect to wait in line, but it’s worth it. The staff is very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I had a hot latte that wasn’t quite as hot as I expected, but it tasted great. Overall, a charming little café that’s definitely worth checking out!"

"I came here with a group of friends. I have only been here once but the bagels and coffees here are pretty great. When I sat down with my friends, I ordered The Smooth Criminal and Cold Brew Coffee. The Smooth Criminal bagel was by far one of the best bagels I had tasted. The sandwich had a sweet, salty, and savory taste that lingers in your mouth minutes after you ate the bagel. The food left me wanting more after I finished devouring it off my aluminum wrap. A bagel is real good when you are left biting the bits of cheese off the aluminum. That is when you know a sandwich is good. I had a cold brew coffee. The taste itself was not bad. I will say the coffee was a bit too bitter for me. However, I am not an average coffee drinker. I am under the presemuption that the coffee is more of an acquired taste. I would not recommend this drink if you are not a fan of bitter drinks. The last thing I had was an Apple Cider Donut. A sweet treat. Nothing to say other than that might have been the best donut I ever tried, and I am not overexaggerating. If you have a sweet tooth I recommend trying this donut. Since the fall season is happening now, I assume the treat might be one of those seasonal desserts. I could be wrong. The service of the café was nice and fast. When you approach the alley where the café is located, you will wait in a line depending on the day. There is a good amount of people there, so that lets you know how good the items are at the place. There is a person at a window that lets you know when to come in- and they allow three people in at a time. The people at the cashier were nice and accommodating. They offered me a sample of the Apple Cider Donut and I decided to order the entire thing. They still let me have the sample which was nice of them. After you order, you head back out and wait for them to call your name at the window. Your food will be ready then. Describing the place as a whole, it is a small place located in an alley way with some tables. You will find the place down Jackson. I love the design of the area, and it is fun to sit down with friends. I personally felt like I was stepping inside one of those taverns from medieval times (I think). Warm and cozy. You can come here by yourself, but I think having my friends there with me made the experience feel that much more warm- and the temperature is in the 50s as I make this review. I look forward to coming back here again, and if you are reading this review I recommend you coming to this place. The prices here are a bit high around the $10-$20+ range depending on what you order. The prices are worth it because the prices match the quality of the food. Great. Last thing. The trains ride around this area so it will be loud. Just a precaution."

"I love this place and make sure to stop by every time I’m in town. I love the espresso most out of all the downtown loop shops, and the delicious bagel sandwiches are a must. Their sriracha cream cheese makes it over the top special. Baristas are kind and efficient, and knowledgeable! You’ll have to take it to go or sit outside but that’s part of the charm and it’s so worth it!!"

"I was walking by and randomly saw this bagel place with a big line out the front, and I just knew I had to try it. There was a super long line for a random..."
