"This is one of my favorite spots in Chicago for authentic French pastries and baked goods. It is always bustling, and being next door to Lycee Francais (the French school) it has a true French vibe to it. They recently updated the decor, which was a huge upgrade - making the space more aesthetically pleasing and looking more like a traditional French bistro. Unfortunately, they recently changed the recipe for some of their signature croissants - making them less appealing and much 'heavier' on the stomach. Specifically, the Ham & Cheese croissant was always a favorite of mine, and I would order it several times / week. Since trying out the new recipe, I haven't ordered it since, and have little desire to order it going forward. It is heavy, has too much cheese, the ham isn't dispersed adequately, and the flatness of it makes it look unappealing. I hope they reconsider some of the recent menu changes, as there was nothing wrong with the original menu items."
