"I came on a Thursday afternoon and the place was empty. No people and no food. I wanted to try the pastries, but there were none available. The hot food was also unavailable. I tried the baklava latte and it tasted very chemically at first from the syrups, but it was okay after I let it sit. The girl who was working was unaware of the menu or anything, which is okay, but I was expecting a lot more from this! Will try again another day to see if they have pastries and give a more fair review. But the atmosphere is nice."

"I ordered the Egyptian shawarma sandwich. It was $7.50 on the menu and they charged me $9.50. when I asked about it, they said it was the "for here" price which came with sides. I would have appreciated them telling me that up front. I got it packed up to go anyway since I was in a rush. The sandwich was okay. The "sides" were maybe half a bag of chips and some questionable looking and smelling pickled vegetables. The menu pictures and are on the walls appear to be AI generated."

"I don’t mind paying high prices to support small businesses but only IF the quality is there. The menu pictures were misleading. I should’ve just gone to a coffee chain since I ended up paying such prices and would’ve had a better breakfast. The French toast was warmed up from a frozen box had no fruit as shown in their images, the turkey croissant was nothing like they marketed, it was flat didn’t have the toppings shown. The coffee was okay."

"Motherland restaurant & coffee shop is outstanding! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with plenty of space to relax or work. Their coffee is smooth and flavorful, and they also have great teas and desserts. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home.. I’ll keep coming back again."

"Cafe ZoZo is an aesthetically pleasing and modern cafe with a cozy, bright, and laid-back environment that gives off an enjoyable vibe to try their assortment of sweets and drinks. The owners behind the counter were very personable, friendly and helpful in describing and suggesting some items from their menu. The Osmanthus Oolong Bubble Milk Tea is a favorite and we especially liked the Tiramisu macarons. As we had such a great experience with Cafe ZoZo, we hired them to cater the dessert for our wedding. They were extremely communicative, organized, and efficient from the initial tasting, dessert setup, and to the last morsel being picked clean by our guests on wedding night. Our dessert table consisted of macarons, cupcakes, cream puffs, mousse cups, and bubble tea from Cafe ZoZo and was a hit with our guests. We were happy to point our guests to Cafe ZoZo for their future dessert cravings and they are worth a visit in Lincoln Square!"
