What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"First time trying coffee from this place, and I really loved it🥰 the young man that took our older was really polite and when I asked him about the flavors he had. He was really helpful. I ordered the caramel latte., cookie dough latte, and he recommended me the ham and cheese sandwich. It was really really delicious. The sauce that they put in the sandwich was super delicious. 😋 I will be back."
"I really wanted to like this place but the customer service made the experience uncomfortable. When my friend and I walked in the woman who helped us gave off very weird vibes. Her tone felt condescending and a bit dismissive, not friendly or welcoming at all. We ordered and waited for our drinks and then saw another customer come in and get a completely different level of treatment. She was told about discounts for teachers and healthcare workers, which we hadn’t been informed of. When I politely asked about the healthcare worker discount afterward, the same lady responded in a strange, almost irritated tone. It didn’t feel like a simple “Oh yes, we do. Just mention it next time” type of interaction. We kept things friendly the whole time but even my friend felt the same off energy. It almost felt like we were being treated differently because of the way we looked, which was disappointing. To be fair, the drinks were great and well made, but the lack of warmth and attitude from the staff completely ruined the vibe for us. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back."
"Wow, the other reviews were right. I called the business number posted, the person who answered was extremely moody and rude. I shared my experience with how bad my drink was and that I would like a refund on just my drink (we ordered one other one) and she insisted that I was wrong because I didn’t have “experience “ with specialty coffee - I worked at a coffee shop for 4 years and milk/espresso can definitely taste burnt. She also kept insisting that it’s “my pallete” and that was just wrong - why can’t they just accept that their barista made a bad drink? Lol She had the worst attitude, condescending, and cold. Small coffee shops want foot traffic because they’re “women owned” and whatnot but their customer service doesn’t come off as inviting or kind. I strongly do not recommend this coffee shop And I’m sure I’ll get a snarky reply at some point for this review because that seems to be their thing. Crazy how rude the woman is. Edit: I checked my call log and I called at 8 am, and another time at 1:30 pm both calls less than a minute. Those times are within your business hours. Don’t use your personal number on google for your business if it bothers you so much :)"
"Uhhh, man... Unfortunately, not that great. Was looking forward to grabbing a hot beverage or coffee before standing in line at the nearby Sugar Moon bakery. And....yea that's just not at all what I got. Order: Chicago Fog Satisfaction: 2/10, Maybe? Why: My beverage is, literally, like.... No joke, literally luke warm at best. Grainy/chunky. And I hate to say it but, overall probably the worst hot beverage I've had since moving to Chicago in 2023. :( As someone with a strong culinary/hospitality background, I am pretty quick to be empathetic and give grace as I understand my standards have been conditioned to be higher than most. However, in a city like Chicago, in a neighborhood like Logan Square, I don't feel like I have to do that as often since this city is packed with so many great food and beverage options. BUT, how do you serve a fresh hot tea beverage and it's not even close to hot? Felt like that coffee you got at Starbucks and forgot to pick it up for 45 mins. Genuinely baffled. Which makes one think, are they using fresh ingredients? Do they really make your cup to order? But that's silly. It's a walk-up window. They have to be making them to order. But still, end result is that I'm not finishing this drink and will stop by another nearby coffee shop after I leave the bakery to get my fix lol. Can't get over a freshly made hot tea beverage that isn't even close to hot and bad chunks in it. Idk. Will consider this a ~$7 fee to find out where NOT to get my coffee in the future Service was okay. Maybe a 7/10."
"Today, I stopped at Necessary and Sufficient Coffee, a grab and go coffee shop and eatery. There's no seating inside the small venue or outside, but if you're in the neighborhood, you should definitely stop by. I got there around 10:30AM, and the line was 8 people deep. But I was out with my meal in under 10 minutes. I asked for the most popular, sweet, and creamy Iced Coffee and got a Canela coffee with hints of honey and vanilla. I appreciated the dusting of cinnamon they sprinkled on top. I love cinnamon in my coffee. I also ordered a Ham and Cheese Morning Bun and was shocked when I opened the container and found a Ham and Cheese Pinwheel style sandwich. I've never seen a savory sandwich made in cinnamon roll style before. I'm a huge fan of toasted cheese, and this sandwich had plenty of that. But the real surprise was inside. Juicy, delicious ham, and stone ground mustard. Mmm, mmm, good! I wish there had been more mustard or at least a side of it because I love mustard, and the sandwich could have used the extra moisture. But as far as grab and go sandwiches, this one is unique and very good. I wanted a chocolate chip cookie, but they didn't have any, or anything else chocolate. Their menu rotates, which can be both a blessing or a curse. But they did have Donuts, which I believe are only served on the weekends. They had blueberry, old-fashioned, and Red Velvet. I'm a sucker for old-fashioned donuts. The donut alone was worth the trip - light, moist, sweet, and rich. It perfectly rounded out breakfast with the last sips of my coffee. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They use biodegradable utensils, which is definitely a plus. Please note that they don't accept cash. There is another location in Printer's Row at 728 S Dearborn St. It's bigger and offers dine-in and take out options. I'll try to go there within the next few weeks and tell you about it, but if you're in the neighborhood, check it out."
"I joined my brother when he walked his kid to school the other week - please respect our privacy - and we stopped by Necessary on the way back. Come to find..."
