"Went in planning to eat lunch, just to learn they completely changed the menu! They no longer have any solid hot dishes; burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, etc. Only a couple cold sandwich options, bags of chips, a couple soup & salad options, and goods in the display case. Pretty disappointed in this change (they had some of my favorite fries)."

"I ate at this café for the first time yesterday, and was pleased overall. The space was clean, the menu was clear with a good variety of options, and the food tasted fine. The service was fast, even considering the fact that there were only two patrons there. I got the Chicago chili dog (with chips and a pickle) and a cup of coffee. The prices were on the high side, and the hot dog and chili could have been served a bit hotter, but overall a lunch that was rather good. Located on the first floor of the Chicago History Museum building, adjoining (June 2022) a very interesting photo exhibition from the Chicago Sun-Times archives."

"Never go to Cafe after 2 pm because they will give you cold fries and cold sandwiches that should be hot. Grilled chicken sandwich wasn’t even grilled, it was cold and not even warmed up. The fries were left overs sitting for a long time. They are usually very good but not when they are cold. They are totally going down in their food quality such a shame when they were the best in neighborhood. Update!! Now there’s a limited menu and it’s packaged, no hot food, no chips with meals, you can buy chips for $4 , no burgers and fries, just very limited menu . It was always packed at lunch time and now only a few people dining in. Whoever thought this was a good idea was very wrong! I guess we will have to lunch somewhere else from now on."
