"Best Hotdog I had! I never had a Chicago hotdog before and I am so glad I tried it here. The pickles and toppings helped to bring all the flavors together. I liked the original hotdog than the garden hotdog. The texture in garden hotdog was more soft and I liked ghe original more because it was chewy. The employees were nice and we had our food quick!"

"This place was worth the visit D Double Lish. Ordered from the kiosk got our condiments while we waited and sat in the enclosed outdoor patio area. The inside was very cool with lots of history and things to look at. Everyone there was doing something everyone was busy no slackers here that I saw, all smiles too. So for the real reason we’re here the food was on point for my tastebuds wife loved hers as well. I had the Italian beef with gravy on the side with fries wife had the Maxwell with fries and root beer she said root beer was really good.(picture provided for more details on order) There are probably way better places I’m no expert but this was a hit for us. Definitely will make this a must stop on our food list next time we’re in the city with strong shoulders."

★★★★★

"Not the most appetizing photo, but the classic hot dog with all the toppings + a side of onion rings was a great meal. Hot dog wasn’t necessarily something to write home about, but had a nice snap and interesting mix of flavors. Onion rings were super crunchy and good with the comeback sauce. Reasonably priced for a touristy spot and very fast service. Ordered at the kiosk."

"I've heard stories of Portillos being the best hot dogs but I was very underwhelmed. The hot dog was small and flavorless. The onion rings were good and crunchy. Nice ambiance with all the vintage decor."

"We always love visiting Portillo’s when we visit Illinois. We had some hit and misses with this location. The inside decor is always on point, such a cool building inside and out, and they have a drive thru which is huge for the city. The men’s bathroom was pretty gross though and needs cleaning. For the food we always love the cheese fries, and we usually love the cake shakes but it wasn’t great- I think they mixed it too much and didn’t have cake chunks, and it tasted more like fake chocolate syrup this time, it was disappointing. We did love our Chicago dogs, tenders, spicy chopped salad, and my son enjoyed the white fish sandwich."
