from Google"My, oh my, this food was simply delicious!! I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich which comes on a pretzel bun and my daughter ordered the Chicken Caprese...both sandwiches were scrumptious!! We also both ordered Honeybear Lattes-- My daughter got it iced and mine was a hot latte. Again, both were delicious!! I was so surprised to find that Breaking Bread has been in business for 14 years as I only just found out about it as part of the McHenry County Coffee and Tea trail. This Breaking Bread location is inside the train station, which is so quaint. I also have to mention that the owner Chris is really nice. I would definitely eat here again. Note: Prices are higher than what is posted on their menu. With tip, the above order was about $45-$46. Also, not sure if this was a one-off or not, but the posted hours said open to 2pm but they closed at 1pm this past Friday since it was slow and no other train was expected in. If the hours are always contingent on the train schedule, I would suggest posting that versus set hours."
"Great gluten free options and in many years coming here (Cary snd Crystsl Lake are equally great), I never had cross contamination issue, which is crucial as l for those of us with Celiac. I also just find the people pleasant. They have kind and welcoming personalities, and I always leave wanting to come back. Pleasant small social exchanges in day-to -day life add up and matter to creating a great community."
"I cant say enough praise for this business! We used them to cater a party six months ago, amazing food and delivery. This week they catered my daughter’s engagement party. She is gluten free (Celiac’s) and they could not have been more accommodating. Highly recommended for any special event! Thank you so much for such amazing service!"
"**The Next Couple Reviews will be on Cheese Curds** I am trying to compare the ones from local Chicago (well, I mean Algonquin which is somewhat close to Chicago), Culver’s, and Culver’s/Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I would call myself a decent lover of cheese. I really like it on certain things like pizza, bread, pastas etc but don’t have it on a daily basis and haven’t been too crazy about it. I’m sure that’s about to change when I go to the cheese capital of the country!! These cheese curds were ready and hot in 3 minutes! They tasted very good although a bit too greasy. What I mean by that is grease was on the napkins in the bag, on the bag itself, and a good amount was on my fingers after eating… Besides that, the curds had just the right amount of salt. Light, crunchy batter with a soft, yet audible crunch. The center was nice, chewy and cheesy. White (no yellow), thin cheesy center. Positive cheese pull test- very long stringy cheese pull. 8/10 for flavor and 8/10 for quality. Some clusters had more cheese than others but overall very enjoyable. I love it and wonder how/if the ones in Wisconsin will stack up!! Price before tax = $4.95 for a med-large bag Worth the calories? Yes, somewhat :)"
"Food is always delicious, workers are super kind, they made a strawberry lemonade drink for me since it wasn't on the menu when I asked ( I said it was fine and ordered another drink-but they surprised me with this one)I also love they have seating outside if we want to bring our dog:)"
