"November 24, 2025 - Consistency is important when it comes to a great cup of coffee. The River is consistent. I know I will get a great cup of coffee and outstanding service every time I drop in. Today, I stopped in after work. On the menu was a new selection of beans from Nicaragua. I ordered a pour over. It was wonderful. The flavor was fresh and mild. There was no bitter after taste. A great blend for morning. I enjoyed the cup so much, I purchased a bag of beans for my home set up. I am ready for tomorrow morning. Another 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ visit. July 8, 2025 - Stopped while running errands. I ordered a Side Car. It was wonderful! If you enjoy fresh coffee made from freshly roasted beans, The River is the place to be. Always great quality and service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 17, 2025 - Another Saturday morning visit to The River. It was again, as I expected, the absolute best cup of coffee. Today, it was a simple Ethiopian pour over. The flavor was robust, yet soothing. No bitter after taste. A great start to the weekend. Another 5 star visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saturday morning is a great time to visit The River. Aaron and his crew make great coffee drinks. Each one comes from freshly ground beans and served with the greatest of care. The River is a must visit in Decatur. January 27, 2024 - Another visit to The River today. It still serves the best coffee I have ever had. Aaron and his crew roast their beans weekly, grind them daily and serve an unrivaled cup of coffee. This is a must visit coffee shop."

"This café is truly a hidden gem in Central Illinois. Before I moved to the area, it was one of the first places I visited—and years later, it continues to impress me. They consistently offer high-quality, distinctive, and exquisite coffees. Just the other day, I enjoyed a remarkable Ethiopian pour-over, vibrant with bright berry notes and the natural sweetness of tropical fruit. It was absolutely stunning. My taste buds have been pleasantly surprised here more than once—one summer, I ordered a cold brew (black, no sugar) and was greeted with an unmistakable hint of blueberries in the very first sip. They are doing exceptional work here. And the people working here are always kind and diligent! A genuine treasure!"

"This place is super cute. We were just passing through the area. The staff and patrons were very friendly. They also have unique seasonal drinks. Everything is fresh and made in-house. Try the strawberry basil latte! Prices are reasonable. Unfortunately we couldn't stay long but this is a great place to sit and enjoy your beverage."

"I was in town and wanted to have a good Cappuccino. The River Coffee Company doesn't disappoint. I had a Cappuccino to go with a Pumpkin 🎃 Muffin. The Cappuccino was perfect and the muffin was excellent. I'll be back when I'm in town. Dog friendly outside but no pup cups available."
