What People Are Saying
from Google"I was excited to try this coffee shop— I got a lao iced coffee which I typically really enjoy. When I took the first sip of it, it tasted overwhelmingly sweet. Like pure sugar. It was undrinkable. I mustered up the courage to go back to the counter and ask if they could exchange it for just a regular hot coffee since my drink was way too sweet. They said they don’t do that because I ordered what I ordered. Not saying it’s the baristas fault, but I think that’s a strange customer service policy from the business."
"Purchase two bags of cookies. One were lace cookies, the other package was not labeled, but look like chocolate crinkle cookies. The lace cookies were good. The second package thought to be chocolate cookies were Not. They tasted like a chocolate cake with powdered sugar on it with tons of hot pepper in it. Horrible. The next day I came back to the shop and asked for a refund or exchange. Was told it had to be approved by the owner. I was told that I have to leave my name and number and explanation on a paper. The owner will then call me. 2 days later and NO REPLY. I feel at this point that’s poor business. As many times as I patron Gail Borden Library, I will not be returning to that café for anything. *** reply to owner- You’re just replying to my review now(?) 3MONTHS LATER!!!!! You are now just saying that the employee I spoke to had the capability to refund/exchange to make it right … clearly he told me the owner had to do it. 3 Months later……you answer me? Noooo Bueno! There were 3 or 4 cookies in the bag. I ate 1 1/2 cookies. 1 unhappy customer, loss of a potential good customer who frequents the library, a not very good review on your biz, an employee who fibbed and to top it off a very late 3 month too late response! All over a package of cookies - that surely I can afford to buy elsewhere!"
"Stopped by for Bahn Mi, and quite pleased I did. The flavors are very good, my only sadness was when the sandwich was gone! Located within the library, turn left if you go through the main entrance. Lots of snacks if you're a hungry library patron."
"Always enjoyed getting food, snacks, and drinks here ever since I was in my transition program. Today, I got myself a "Mango Boba Tea", without the tapioca pearls and was very sweet and tasty. I even tried one of their pork buns for the first time in my life from about a year ago or so before I graduated this year from May, and it was pretty tasty too! My teachers, classmates, and friends from my transition program seemed to enjoy there food as well."
"I usually come here to get a cinnamon roll and read a couple chapters. There were none today so I got an ice chai tea latte. I took 2 sip and realized there was coffee in it. I asked it this was coffee instead of chai and the barista said yes it’s a cappuccino coffee chai mix. I advised that I couldn’t have coffee due to a surgery I had recently, so I asked for a hot chocolate instead. She told me there’s nothing wrong with it so I can’t make the hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was $1 less than the chai so I was confused. I then let her know that the menu says chai ice latte not cappuccino coffee chai latte and she still refused. I asked for a refund and that she was able to do. They close at 7:30 now. Not 8"
