from Google & Yelp"The mug is an off the beaten path coffee shop that is worth visiting. It’s located on a side street off the main road through downtown Harvard, it’s tucked into an old firehouse. It’s located across the street from a parking lot for the Metra rail system. The interior has a fun flair that is inviting, and there is seating where one can sip a cup of coffee while reading or having a conversation with a friend if they aren’t grabbing one to go. I’ve been to The Mug multiple times now. The staff is always friendly and helpful with answering questions. Especially for the coffee ignorant such as myself. I drink coffee, but I couldn’t tell you what the different styles are as usually I just make a cup of regular black coffee at home. When I go out to buy coffee I want something I can’t make at home. I’ve had multiple coffees here over the last month and everyone was delicious. Whether it was the Gingerbread Eggnog Latte, a Blueberry Crisp Latte, or the Dulce de leche, they were all hot and delicious. The Mug is better than the large chains that seem to have overrun the country. I know they have made a repeat customer out of me."
"The Mug Coffeehouse is a great add to the Harvard community. Loved walking inside and seeing different artwork available for sale from artists. It was a really beautiful view. The decorations for the coffee house were very modern appeal. The service was pleasant, but a little discombobulated. Some coffe came out one side and some coffe came out the other. Overall, for being new they were working at a great clip. I saw people walking through with their dogs to get a pup cup. This was super pleasant and I would look forward to doing this in the future. Now for the coffee and tea. We got on London Tea, one gingerbread Eggnog, one cookie butter and a plain coffee. All of the tasted amazing. The butter cookie coffe was good BUT I am not a huge fan of pieces of cookie inside the coffee. It was a little gritty towards the end. If you go here make sure you tell them the preferred heat of your coffee. Next time we would like it as hot as they can make it. We let them sit a while expecting them piping hot and they were mildly warm. Overall! Love it! Extra points on the cow and sunflower pieces that plug the coffee cups from losing heat were extra cute."
"When it comes to quantity versus quality, Mug Coffeehouse shines on the quality side. I had the Rustic Beef and loved every bite. The sub was cut in half, and each half was sufficient enough for lunch. I took half home and will enjoy it tomorrow. The bread was "different" as most sub sandwiches go: It was ciabatta bread and it is as delicious. The roast beef had great flavor as did the cheddar cheese. I had an orange cranberry scone for dessert: Perfect density (for me), great orange flavor, plenty of fresh cranberries, and a sweet but not thick glaze. The best surprise was the lemonade mango peach "Refresher." We ordered and split a medium, polished that off and went back to the counter and ordered another one. Only the second one was a large! Quaint and quiet, Mug is a light fare place that you don't want to miss."
"I stopped in because I was passing through town briefly, and needed my caffeine fix (coffee nut here). Found The Mug, I was blown away by how friendly the owners were and customer service is amazing. Very cozy and asked for a Cortado and it was made perfectly. I will be stopping here anytime that I’m near Harvard. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone that likes great coffee and a top notch customer experience."
"I placed a mobile order and was about 15 minutes late from the pick-up time. When I arrived, they had remade my drink order and brought out a fresh breakfast sandwich. "No one should start their day with bad coffee and cold food." AWESOME customer service!"
