"I consider myself a food critic, and although I cannot give an accurate review on the food (they had no food available when I arrived at 10AM) I can give an accurate review on service and value. I waited an ENTIRE 30 minutes on two (2) frappés. The wait time was mainly due to there only being one girl making all the drinks. there seemed to be 2 other employees back in the kitchen, chatting, for the entirety of the time I spent there. mind you, they were in a kitchen that supposedly had no food. so instead of helping with any tasks, they felt it was better for them to just stand in the kitchen, doing nothing productive. The frappés themselves were underwhelming at best. Considering vienna, or metropolis are both only a short drive away, I'd much rather go to a dairy queen or a mcdonalds for a frappe.... they are better and cost way less, and I don't have to wait 30 minutes for them. As far as the food, I can't 100% give a true review, because I was not able to get any food at my visit. However, upon reviewing the menu, and seeing pictures of the food they offer, I can confidently say I will never find myself ordering from here. The portions look hilariously small in contrast to the price. $7 for what looks to be one biscuit cut in half smothered with gravy? it could be 2 biscuits, but even so, that's definitely not worth $7. Avocado toast? is this california? you're in the deep southern most area of Illinois. Come on now! People here are after a good hearty meal that is reasonably priced. and the food offered here is anything but that.. I expect this place to shut down after the "new" wears off. these are small towns, and we get excited over ANYTHING that's new. once everyone's tried it, it will die off."

"Enjoyed lunch with my mom at Cornerstone Cafe today and we were both very impressed by the atmosphere, food AND service! I had a pizza panini with Italian style pasta salad and a blue raspberry lemonade. Perfect pairing. My mom tried the chicken salad croissant with baked potato salad and a caramel frappe. She said that was the best croissant sandwich she can remember having in a very long time! We will definitely be back to visit very soon!"

"I’m not a food critique by any means, but I got a to go order of a chicken pesto sandwich and it was absolutely delightful. Being a Dietitian, I try to find places that have healthier and whole food options and Cornerstone Cafe is one of those places. Everything tasted fresh. Would recommend."
