"Customer service was truly excellent and Gerhard's went out of their way to accommodate me. Like others have mentioned, the prices feel high. As I saw the price during purchase I was thinking, "this better be the best Tiramisu I've ever had". It was indeed the best Tiramisu we've ever had. The beautiful presentation made our celebration feel extra special as well. Gerhard's exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to try their other offerings!"

"I visited this bakery on a few occasions. Exhorbitant prices for average bakes - perhaps they get away with it because they are placed in an upscale neighborhood. Food quality is average. They claim to be a European style bakery - while the aesthetics of the pasteries can be appealing, but the freshness, service and elegance is missing. One time they sold me a pastry that was stale, the bread layer dried up and separated from the cream filling. I never bought pasteries from this place again, but sometimes I picked up breads or croissants. Their manager is excessively loud and fussy. I am not comfortable having to deal with her. One time she noticed my premium credit card and commented so loudly in the store - This person is rich! As if these people are judging customers before serving them! Today, I noticed their manager ridiculing a customer who was trying to explain their food preferences before buying their overpriced stuff. Some of her regulars seem to join in mocking the unsuspecting customer. This manager was obnoxiously loud and as if wanting to make this customer feel guilty for not buying her stuff - that was some cheap selling theatrics. I don’t think naming their store after Europe gives them any superior elegance. They lost a customer today."

"I started working in Lake Forest for about a month and I wanted to try out a local bakery… this spot is my new go to! From cookies, to pies, to fresh bread, and truffles! The variety is endless. There are quite a bit of delicious options and I was struggling to pick just one. I tried their cranberry & pear dessert and within the first bite, I already knew this spot will take all my money."

"We ordered several pastries to dine in, and we likewise ordered several to take with us. Both were good moves on our part. Fluffy, light, flaky, and yummy. Go for the delicious pastries, and if you're lucky you'll catch the owner - she is friendly and delightful and made a simple bakery visit thoroughly enjoyable."

"I visited this bakery three times, and the service has always been bad. The last time I went, I was the only customer in the bakery. Three women behind the counter completely ignored me until I specifically asked for help. The woman who was helping me with my takeaway order saw another woman at the door and ran to open the door for her. She then proceeded to ignore me again and take her order! I spoke up again and said, "Pardon me, I have not finished placing my order yet." She begrudgingly finished my order without speaking to me. No proper greeting, no good-bye, thanks for coming. They have lost a customer. I now happily purchase from other bakeries in the area where the food is just as good, if not better, at a reasonable price."
