from Google & Yelp"I highly recommend Queen Yemeni Coffee Shop. We tried the Biscoff latte and the banana bread latte, and they were some of the most flavorful, well-balanced lattes we’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious, plus they have tons of treat options to choose from."
"My pistachio cheesecake was SO GOOD! It’s nice to have unique sweet options available locally with an ethnic touch. Dubai chocolate is available. My chai was made fresh to order, so I didn’t mind the extra wait. It was definitely strong! And not too sweet or bitter. All of the members of our party loved their orders. I have yet to try a more “unique” drink, maybe that will be for next time! FYI they do have decaf but it’s only for the “special” drinks (lattes etc) - the actual Yemeni coffee is caffeinated only. Also the mural work is new, and it definitely adds a cozy touch to the place. Our only “complaint”, if you can call it that, is that the door has to stay open for egress capacity; even though we were indoors we did end up getting a lot of mosquito bites that eventually led us to leave a little early. But the drinks and food items themselves are well executed and I look forward to returning!"
"I live love this place. The desserts are great and I love the drinks. I always try to get something new because I'm trying to taste all of the drinks. My three complaints, unfortunately, are the following: 1) since winter started it always feels cold in there so I've been thinking that either the back door is open, the heater isn't working, or the heater isn't at 71°F because why am I always needing to wear my jacket inside? 2) the hours are confusing. Why does it say it closes at 1AM yet when I've gone the cashier starts sweeping and mopping around 11pm and indirectly giving vibes that it's almost closing time. I didn't see a proper sign at the door stating the times so I had to double check Google maps and the shop's website for the hours. So the moment we have left recently closer to midnight the doors get locked and the OPEN sign gets turned off. It did say 1AM yet the hours are inconsistent. 3) why isn't music ever played when customers are inside? It's low key uncomfortable when we're trying to have conversation and the whole coffee shop can hear. I don't want to whisper - mind you. We're not shouting either, but with the small size you can literally hear across the room."
"Looking for a study spot in Libertyville, I found Queen Yemeni and was very satisfied. When you walk in the smell of cardamom just hits you. It is very pleasant and implores you to try their baked goods and their coffee. Their traditional coffee has a distinct flavor that I enjoyed (far better than the watered down coffees from other places), with enough cardamom to keep you interested without drowning you in spices. In contrast, their baked goods are not sweet, which balance well with the coffee! Would come back to study here, as I have seen many people come in for coffee, to chat, and hangout!"
"Cozy place with delicious coffee and a wide selection of drinks. The menu is diverse — from classic espresso to unique Yemeni specialties. Fast and friendly service, and the interior makes you want to stay longer. Definitely coming back!"
"This review is overdue and my return to the shop is similarly so. When they had newly opened, I wandered in, curious. I was offered/comped a specialty..."
