"I’ve lived in Palatine for almost 10 years and usually go to a chain restaurant for breakfast like First Watch or Brunch Cafe. Today I decided that I wanted to try a local spot that I’ve never been to before and I definitely understand why I stick to the chain restaurants. I ordered the pancake and egg breakfast for my kids to share and it came with a piece of bacon that was completely burnt and almost inedible. I then had to get up and ask the server for a new piece because he never made an attempt to come and check on us after dropping the food off. Then as I was cutting into my chorizo Benedict to take my first bite I noticed a short, straight black hair sitting right on top of the egg. I again had to get up and go bring my plate to the server and let him know that there was a hair in my food. A couple minutes later he came back with a new piece of bacon and the same plate that I had handed to him. They simply took off the hair and tried to give me my plate back and I then explained for a second time that there was a hair in my actual food. Absolutely nothing redeeming that would make me want to come back. My 1 year old didn’t even eat because she didn’t like anything and this girl eats EVERYTHING."

"Wonderful, tasty, and very reasonably priced breakfast! We went here and ordered corn beef hash and #5 combo (cinnamon French toast + 2 eggs + has browns + 2 bacons). The service was fast and our server was so incredibly kind. Bread & Butter Cafe has a very comfy and cozy ambiance. We will be coming back!"

"The service was quick and fast, the place was clean and people friendly. They were happy to substitute and let us do customization, which was great The food was okay, nothing great, especially for the price. But we got one sausage link, which was not done right. It tasted as if made in a rancid oil that really put us off. Otherwise, the food was not bad but not great as well."
