Owners are extremely kind and welcoming. I always look forward to going back! It’s a bit pricey, but that’s just specialty coffee nowadays🤷‍♀️. I’d much rather come here than go to Starbucks for the same price. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GREENHOUSE!!"

"The Greenhouse absolutely blew us away. We’re from Rockford and have our own little coffee shop scene, so we’ll be honest—we’re huge coffee fanatics and a bit snobby. It’s very rare that we go somewhere new and immediately love the coffee. The Greenhouse was so good that we grabbed another coffee to go on the way out, which says everything. The vibe inside is incredible. It’s the kind of place that feels equally perfect for meeting friends or settling in to work for a while. The plants alone are worth the visit—clearly well cared for, thoughtfully curated, and full of varieties you don’t normally see. Nothing felt overpriced or mass-produced; you can tell someone genuinely knows and loves plants, not just grabbed them from a big-box store. The food was just as thoughtful. The bagels were excellent, and I loved that the cream cheese came in a little ceramic cup—such a small detail, but so fun and intentional. Even the glassware and the ice cubes stood out. You could feel the care and design choices in every single detail throughout the shop. Customer service was wonderful, warm, and welcoming. We felt genuinely happy to be there. We will absolutely be back, and Sycamore just earned itself a spot on our list of easy little road trips. Much love and respect from Rockford—this place is doing it right."

I tried the horchata latte and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly spiced and smooth. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with plenty of plants that give the space a refreshing energy you don’t find everywhere. On top of great coffee, The Greenhouse also has an amazing selection of plants. I picked up a beautiful alocasia to take home, and the owner went above and beyond by offering tips on care and even his business card in case I had questions later. That kind of kindness and knowledge really makes the shop stand out as a community favorite. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Sycamore, this is a must-visit spot for great coffee, unique finds, and genuine hospitality."

"Upon entering the space I immediately knew I would enjoy Green House! Although it's a large space; the different areas provide an air of coziness and warmth. A particular draw on the cold, December morning. Plants, books, and coffee. All curated with exceptional care and taste. My drip coffee was excellent. The bagel? One of the best I've had in a long time! I order a hot matcha too and it was very good. The folks working were incredibly busy and incredibly skilled and incredibly apologetic for the wait. I was just thrilled to enjoy the space, the coffee, and the food. No apologies necessary; I'm glad you're busy and successful! You deserve it"
