What People Are Saying
from Google"Super authentic diner experience. I just love the staff and that’s its second generation family owned. Try the pancakes wrap and experiment with syrup for the pancake and ketchup for the hash browns. The portions are large enough to share."
"I was born into a restaurant family in Topeka. My grandparents owned a few places downtown in the 1960s. So Hanover has always been know to me. I've not eaten there in years, so I looked forward to having breakfast there for the first time in years. Hash browns seemed to have been set in a fryer after being par-cooked; they tasted of fry oil and they were tough. It wasn't that busy at my time of visit, but the meal did get brought out in a few minutes. Otherwise, the rest was enjoyable. It was nice to get a full carafe of coffee!"
"Not bad overall. A little pricey for breakfast, but eggs were done just as requested, and buttermilk pancakes were awesome. Perfect texture and flavor on good sized pancakes. This reminds me of a place my grandparents would have taken me back in the 70's."
"I grew up going here Sundays after church with the extended family and the food was just as I remembered. I've made a few trips back to town over the last few months and it was great to have such a nostalgic experience live up to the memory. The menu has definitely changed over the years, but it has stayed true to the classic diner feel. The hashbrowns are exactly what you'd expect and the eggs always come out as ordered. The pattymelt and onion rings are perfect too."
"I’m SO thrilled to have discovered this pancake house! As soon as the biscuits came out, I knew they were homemade; as a southern girlie myself, these biscuits were very appreciated. I almost requested a half dozen to take home. The portion sizes are very generous, especially for the price! I felt badly not finishing my food, but who doesn’t love some yummy leftovers? The customer service itself deserves its own paragraph. We were immediately met with smiles despite how busy they were, and seated promptly. A blind woman entered the restaurant and the host was immediately helpful and asked if she could take her arm and lead her to her booth; you don’t find employees like that often (I am a general manager to a fast food chain, I am envious) If you are curious about this local gem, TRY IT! We live an hour away but will be back with our kids next week."
