from Google & Yelp"I wish I had gotten the name of the barista but I was in such a brain fog the morning I came in where I had been up all night. The heat doesn’t work in my car and I was downtown to sing at First Presbyterian first advent service this past Sunday and got there early before anyone else was there to let me in to warm up. So I stopped in at HCC for a hot drink and a warm room. I was nervous about singing and out of my comfort zone wearing a dressier outfit. But the barista knew none of this when I walked in and took off my coat and she complimented my outfit straight away which was reassuring. Then when I seemed unsure about what to order (I used to work at and mostly go to Starbucks when I still lived in Louisville but since coming back home I’ve stopped going because the one in food city is almost never the way I order it and actually heard someone there making fun of my mobile order one day so between that and the main company’s labor practices I’ve not gone back for awhile) she told me to take my time and offered suggestions to explore how to make my perfect drink. I told her I just wanted something hot that wouldn’t hurt my tummy (with too much caffeine or milk) cause I’m singing today and already nervous with my stomach in knots, but I don’t really like just hot tea either. She suggested a chai with a couple different syrups, I saw an Apple drink on the seasonal menu and asked for the syrup that would come in that because “I used to steam apple juice with chai at Starbucks when I worked there and it was my favorite hot non coffee drink” right away she said they had something similar on their fall menu and she still had some leftover ingredients she could use like the apple puree and some cold foam to top it off. She even ended up giving a medium instead of the small I ordered because it foamed up more than anticipated and she didn’t want to waste the rest. This was absolutely hands down the best experience I’ve had in any coffee shop in the state whether it was a chain or local. I was so impressed, felt so welcome and at ease even with my general social anxieties. And I know for sure it led to me being more relaxed for my performance at church later that morning. AND the drink was delicious and even better than anything I had made at Starbucks 😂❤️ so THANK YOU whomever you are, you really made my day so much better, and I can’t recommend enough going to this coffee shop anytime you’re downtown!"
"Great coffee place in Hazard. I’m from California and was visiting Hazard to see family and this coffee shop is as good as any other shop I’ve visited. Ambience is great, free WiFi and easy parking. Highly recommended for handcrafted or brewed coffee!!"
"Stopped in for a coffee while on a work trip here. The gentleman was very nice and friendly. I ordered a seasonal drink from their blackboard and it was exactly what I expected. Definitely recommend if you're in town."
"Absolutely adorable little coffee shop in the heart of downtown Hazard. The staff was awesome and so sweet. I wasn't sure what I wanted, and they asked questions to help me narrow down my options. Ended up with a French toast latte light flavor, and it was perfect!!!! Definitely one of the better lattes I've had and wasn't too sweet. It is located inside an older building and has a great vibe!"
"I had the best iced pumpkin pistachio latte (I did ask for half the flavor pumps they usually do and it was still sweet so just adjust accordingly due to sweet preferences). The cold foam on top was fantastic and the employee helping us was so nice and helpful with menu recommendations. The Halloween decorations and decorated coffee menu were also so cute! Will definitely come back next time we’re in Hazard ☺️"
"Oh my- *best* white chocolate mocha ever. It was perfect. The coffee flavor was excellent. Not too sweet. The cafe itself is simple, peaceful and inviting...."
