What People Are Saying

from Google

"After seeking out Co Ops during work trips for 10+ years, this is one of my favorite in the entire country. Fantastic selection of bulk foods, gran and go food, deli hot food bar, salad bar, coffee/tea/juice/smoothie bar, and other unique products. Folks in Lexington should not take this place for granted and if you can, please shop here even if you can’t afford the membership joining fee. You can still reap the health benefits of what this place has to offer, including supplements and vitamins."

"I've been doing my shopping here almost every week since I discovered it! I do wish that the selection for certain products was wider, but I understand that the store is small and shelf space is limited. Prices are very reasonable considering what you're getting. Good Foods is unexpectedly budget-friendly; I walked in expecting Whole Foods, but it's no worse than Kroger. The biggest jump in price that I've experienced is with canned stuff. There usually isn't much of a line, but I've not seen more than two lanes open, so even a few people can still take a while. I've found that the employees are friendly and have been helpful in finding things. Above all, I believe in the co-op's mission and values, and I hope it will be successful for many years to come."

"Good Foods Co-Op is a true gem. Everything is thoughtfully sourced, fresh, and rooted in community values. I go for the local selection—it just feels better than shopping at big chains like Kroger. Whether I’m picking up produce, bulk herbs, or a quick lunch from the deli. The selection is always good and the produce is fresh something that typically can’t be said about other stores."

★★★★★

"Good bulk food store with some fantastic specialty products in the spice section and elsewhere. The bulk food section could use gluten free flour, peanut butter protein, and whey protein. The granola is a little overpriced too ( 7 bucks a pound on average). But they are the only option for bulk food in Lex so take what you can get. Bulk coffee beans are in dirty dispensers which had a heavy buildup of rancid oil coating the sides. For light roast coffee, you don't want to see oily beans. So for 16 bucks a pound on average you are getting an inferior coffee. All of the granola currently on hand is gluten free but not necessarily celiac friendly and is around 5 bucks a pound. Charging 16 dollars a pound for gluten free granola is a ripoff given the supply of gluten free foods. A WinCo food store in Lexington would provide healthy competition for this establishment's bulk section."

★★★

"So proud to have Good Foods in Lexington. They provide a variety of Kentucky proud products (and more niche, health food items too!) that you can only get at a variety of farmer's markets around the state. The food they make in house is exceptionally good, lots of vegan/vegetarian options, and always great service."
