The Mayan Manhattan was an excellent accompaniment, skillfully crafted, smooth, and distinctive. Service by Sadie was exemplary. She was attentive, professional, and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience without being intrusive. "I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mayan Cafe in Louisville on a Monday night, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out. For my appetizer, I chose the black bean empanada, which was a fantastic start to the meal. The empanada was perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a flavorful black bean mixture that was both hearty and satisfying. The highlight of the evening was the entrée – the rabbit. It was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, with a rich and savory sauce that complemented the meat beautifully. Every bite was a treat. To finish off the meal, I indulged in the goat cheese flan for dessert. This was truly phenomenal, with a creamy texture and a lovely fruit topping that added a refreshing sweetness. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. The meal was fairly priced, and the restaurant also offered a nice selection of wines to pair with the dishes. Overall, Mayan Cafe provided an exceptional dining experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal in Louisville."

"We had originally planned on going to a "fancier" steak restaurant for the evening, but they were fully booked and we ended up going to Mayan Cafe instead, mainly because of their rating on Tripadvisor and the fact that all of their meat is sustainably raised (grass fed/pasture raised). I am so glad we went to Mayan Cafe instead of the steak restaurant because we LOVED it, and ended up booking a table for the following night as well. The food was absolutely terrific, and the prizing was really good! The flavours were so incredibly well matched and it really made for an authentic food experience. Since we went there two evenings in total, we were able to try out a lot of different courses. For entrées we had the Mole of the day (beef), the Papadzules, the Cochinita Pibil and the Tacos the Lengua. All of them were incredible, but my favourite was the Papadzules! The first night we had the Frijol Colado as a shared starter, which was incredible. For dessert we had the Mexican Tiramisu and it was just fantastic! They also had some really nice cocktails. The first night we booked a table on the patio since everything inside was fully booked, but we loved the atmosphere outside. A little secluded, some lovely lighting and artwork. The following evening the patio was fully booked, but when we arrived we were able to get a table on the patio anyways! The staff were amazing; extremely friendly, attentive and obliging, but never too much. Mayan Cafe is a must if you’re going to Louisville!"
