"One of the many places that keep me coming back to New Orleans. This bakery has so much heart and soul, and is a vital part of the community. Besides their insanely good sandwiches, pastries, and of course their legendary King Cakes, owners Chaya Conrad and her husband Alton Osborne are always the first to step up when there is a need, and never ask for anything in return. And then there are the King Cakes! This year we tried this savory one -with a description like this, how could we not? Meet our spinach artichoke king cake- aka Spin/Art Garlic bread king cake filled with a bubbling cauldron of cheese pretending to be a vegetable dish. It’s what happens when spinach and artichokes get tired of being side salads and demand to be smothered in dairy glory. It’s warm, it’s creamy, and it will fill your belly between floats. It was so darn good! If you only have time to make one stop while you are visiting, this is the place you need to be."

"Bless Bywater Bakery 🙌🏼 We called Bywater Bakery on a Sunday looking for an impromptu wedding cake. (Definitely on me 🫣) HOWEVER- Bywater Bakery pulled through! When we initially inquired about a berry Chantilly cake, they did not have any available. My now brother-in-law and husband went over to see what they did have made shortly after the call- lo and behold they had fresh berry Chantilly cakes out! The owner made time to speak to them and had staff decorate the cake a little extra! The cake was incredible! Hate I didn’t finish my piece!
