from Google & Yelp"I wanted to try the beignets since a coworker recommended them. They were a great price for three large freshly made beignets. We went around 7:45 am. It wasn’t too busy yet. There was a piano playing by itself and you could tell that they had a space for live music. My husband got a mocha and it was hot. They had a counter with condiments and other add-ons. My husband added half and half and some sugar and he was happy with his drink. My beignets arrived fairly quickly. They were slightly steaming. The dough had an amazing flavor and the powder sugar complimented it well. I would have preferred it be lighter on the powder sugar, but it still wasn’t too sweet. The interior was pleasing to the eye though some of the chairs didn’t look very comfortable. Staff was professional. We noticed canal street has two locations a couple blocks apart. By 10 o‘clock, the cafe was packed so we recommend trying to beat the crowd."
"We came here in August for our Daughter's 21st birthday. The Beignets were definitely worth trying. They were a treat. We tried the OG, chocolate, caramel pecan Beignets. Each one was very tasty. The ambiance of the place was nice. Open air concept, not too crowded, cool enough to enjoy sitting outside on hot day."
"The service here is quick and simple. With a close proximity to the Main Street, there transaction took about 5 minutes from ordering to receiving our beignets. $4.99 plus tax gives you an order of 3 large and warm beignets, covered in powdered sugar. We got two orders but one was good enough for the moment due to the size. The staff were professional and polite. The female employee who took our order, needs to be promoted to manager, if she already isn’t one. Her interaction with the other employees showed display her care for the brand. There is ample seating outside with cute tables and chairs to match the theme of the cafe."
"We decided to try Cafe Beignet after hearing from locals that it is also a decent option to try while visiting Louisiana. Overall, the experience was mixed. The coffee was the highlight of our visit. It was smooth, well balanced, and not bitter - easily the best part of the meal. We also tried the beignets, the crawfish omelette, and the French toast. The beignets were just okay and did not fully meet our expectations in terms of texture and flavor. Not bad, but not something we would come back for specifically. The French toast, however, was relatively decent and enjoyable. The crawfish omelette was fine, but not particularly memorable. One thing we did appreciate was how clear and descriptive the menu was. Each item was explained well, and it was easy to tell which dishes were vegetarian friendly. That level of clarity made ordering simple and straightforward. Where Cafe Beignet really shines is the interior. The space is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The jazz theme and Louisiana history reflected through artwork and large portraits on the walls were genuinely enjoyable and informative. There are also many take-home options available, such as spices, mixes, and other local items, which is a nice touch for visitors. Overall, Cafe Beignet is a pleasant stop, especially for coffee and atmosphere. While some food items did not fully meet expectations, the coffee, interior design, and clear menu descriptions made the visit worthwhile."
"We took a short walk from our hotel over to Café Beignet on Canal Street. It’s a cool setup with plenty of outdoor seating. Once inside, we ordered our coffee at one end of the counter. Wifey and I opted for a couple of Cafe Mochas. Wifey got hers with whipped cream, and I went without. Then we headed to the other end to place an order for our beignets topped with pecans. They handed us a tabletop number and told us they’d bring the fresh beignets out to our table. The space was surprisingly large for a coffee shop, with multiple TVs showing the football games and even a small live band playing. It was super clean and had a nice energy overall. The beignets took a little while to come out, but that made sense since they were made fresh to order. When they arrived, they were steaming hot and very fresh. The lady who took our order and the guy who brought out the beignets were not very personable, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. We loved the place, and both the coffee and beignets were excellent!"
