What People Are Saying
from Google"Having only tried a beignet at Disneyland (I know, ewww?) which was hard and dense, I didn't know what to expect from a REAL beignet. On our first day in NOLA, we stopped at Cafe Beignet bc Cafe du Monde looked way too crazy. Cozy atmosphere, lots of selections on the menu if you don't want beignets , but if you do want beignets, there's a variety of flavors too (fresh strawberries with strawberry and chocolate sauce, pecan pralines, and a Mardi Gras frosted one). There are also a ton of different pastries and breakfast items. Service was friendly and quick - and the beignets were made to order - and O.M.G. That was the most delicious thing I ever ate. Like Remy when he put 2 delicious foods together and he saw colors. Pillowy soft but crispy on the outside and not an excessive amount of powdered sugar. My inner fat kid could eat a dozen of these. My sis and I vowed we needed breakfast of beignets every day while here. We went to the legendary Cafe du Monde in the French Market the next day and I hate to say it but Cafe Beignet was superior. Their beignet's were not as fluffy and they put way too much powdered sugar on top. We all concluded that Cafe du Monde, while good, was not at the level of Cafe Beignet. And the fact that they only take cash, they only serve beignets and various coffees and drinks and it's crazy crowded. Not worth it. Cafe Beignet, how I love thee...."
"Visited during a busy afternoon and was greeted by the bustling crowds, live music, and the scent of fresh beignets in the air. After ordering at the counter, you're handed a number and the food is delivered to your table—efficient despite the crowd. The beignets arrived hot, fluffy, and generously dusted with powdered sugar—classic and satisfying. The live music added a festive touch and made the wait feel like part of the experience. Seating can be tight during peak hours, and the line moves slowly, so patience is key. Not the quietest spot, but perfect if you're looking for atmosphere and a taste of local flavor. Would definitely return for the vibe and the beignets."
"This was my first beignet if the NOLA trip and was pretty good. A little thick fluffy funnel cake bit is what it was but I had to try them to see whose in better. The waitress or bartender created a coffee for me with oat milk and foam and husband tried the bloody Mary. I'm not a tomato juice and spice type of person but he said it was pretty good. He also got the mulatta sandwich which was different with chopped olives. Normally I'm not a olive person but it was pretty good. It was very different but he liked it. I enjoyed the atmosphere, they had a guy singing and playing the guitar and harmonica so that was nice. They even had a few small bird flying in and out. That gave a cute aspect to the cafe. Overall it was a nice visit and I will compare to Cafe de Monte for sure."
"I’m sure that this has to be just a bad batch but if you’re such a big chain you shouldn’t have bad batches, you should have perfected the art by now. My beignets came out oily and luke warm (like they had been reheated by frying). They were also EXTREMELY DENSE. Like bread. The powdered sugar was soggy. I couldn’t even finish one. The service was cold and aloof like they didn’t want to be there. The music was WAY too loud, I couldn’t hear myself chew. I sound like I’m just a hater but I do recognize greatness when I see it. For a place that seems like it’s supposed to be a nicer experience, it wasn’t. Edit: looking at other people’s reviews and pictures, it looks like mine definitely were just a bad bunch. But again, so disappointing."
"We liked this place so much we ended up going twice on our trip to the French Quarter. Great decor..live music...fresh hot beignets that were so good. The omelets here are really good as well and they don't skimp on the toppings. Cajun potatoes were a great compliment to the omelets. They serve breakfast all day but have other foods like gumbo..sandwiches...jumbalaya...and a bar but we got there too late to try any of the drinks. There is a bathroom located inside the restaurant and outdoor seating If you prefer. Its right next to the museum of illusions and a large public parking lot. One of the easier places to get to near the French quarter."
