What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Did not enjoy this place and below is why. #1 They were out of almost everything that sounded good on the menu: cocoon hash, avocados, biscuits and gravy, quiche, waffles, and more. #2 We ordered (after being told an initial list of things that were out) and were told later that two dishes we ordered were now also out of stock. #3 I ordered a tasso toast ($14). It was tiny with no sides. It was smaller than the palm of your hand. It also was bone dry with no sauce and was given with an egg on top that had fully cooked yolk. I sent it back. #4 I had ordered two menu items for myself. When I sent back the tasso toast I expected to get a replacement. I told them since I couldn't get avocado toast (out of avocados after I ordered it) I'd get the egg and bacon breakfast to replace it. I never got the toast so I only ever got one thing. #5 A woman took the initial order and drinks and disappeared. A man started coming by after and she was missing. We aren't sure if there was a shift change but we didn't know who our server was and it added to the delay and confusion. #6 It was hot inside. Just barely bearable. I don't think they had AC on or it wasn't on enough. I live walking distance to this place. I don't plan to come back. It was not a great experience, service wasn't good, selection wasn't good, atmosphere wasn't good."
"I stumbled into this spot on my first trip to New Orleans and when I walked in I immediately felt like family! The shrimp and grits was PHENOMENAL, I spent years living in the South and this is in the top 3 best I’ve ever had - also for a great price. The cocktails are delicious and all of the seasonal drinks were infused in house: I really loved the strawberry basil margarita and pumpkin spiced White Russian. With all of the options in New Orleans, the staff - especially Marigny and Stephanie - made us feel right at home, like we were drinking at our neighborhood bar! On my first trip to New Orleans I came back twice because I loved it so much. I can’t wait to book my next trip back and return to Frenchman All Day!!"
"We were in visiting from Chicago and went to this place for a late dinner. I tried the crawfish hash. The meal was amazing! It was flavorful and not spicy. The atmosphere was so cozy and delightful. The staff treated us like we were old friends. Kitchen is open so you’re able to watch the chefs cook. The chefs are so talented and spoke to tables while cooking! It’s was my birthday and the best birthday dinner I could’ve asked for. Will be going back next trip!"
"We discovered this gem 4 years ago and now on our annual returns to the city, this is the eating establishment we return to time and time again. We’ve ordered about 1/2 of the menu selections by now and every one of them is of exceptional flavor and quality. We love the small space and all the local framed posters, prints, etc. They make a fabulous, flavorful Bloody Mary. Every food item and drink selection from there is fresh and made on the spot! The staff is efficient and friendly, always willing to engage in conversation if time permits. Try the bread pudding with rum sauce…oh my goodness!!"
"We loved the decor and atmosphere; it was intimate and comfortable. I also liked the distressed furniture. The staff is nice too, we enjoyed our meal!"
"No beer, no cheddar cheese, no grits & a long list of other key ingredients the restaurant was out of. The server even said to her colleague - "This place..."
