What People Are Saying
from Google"Great little spot that serves absinthe properly without all the fire nonsense. Not a huge selection, but what they have is phenomenal. Bartender was great, and seemed genuinely excited to share the history of the drink with everyone who came in while I was there. Cash only"
"Love this spot, but I've had issues on two separate trips (years apart) with being given the incorrect change when ordering drinks. They were quick to fix it when I brought it to their attention. It could just be a honest mistakes, but it's kinda sketchy that it's happened twice. Still a great spot to sit for a drink and some people watching. Just count your change. Also they have a public restroom."
"Great spot dripping with history and charm! Absinthia and Henry have been amazing every time we’ve stopped in. True assets to the French Quarter!"
"We have visited many times through the years and it has been featured is some of the walking tours. Be patient with the traditional absinth drip, it takes time and you should watch the liquid as it collects in the drinking glass. Take cash and include lots of small bills so you can pay and tip without drama. Really, large bills and large crowds are not a good mix On our most recent trip, we were expecting them to be open before 2pm but the person setting up at 1pm said it would be another hour. We had to continue our walk and had plans that prevented a return that afternoon. Based on previous visits, I can say that good absinth is not a cheap drink. I can not recommend any at leas than 120 proof since it will be diluted prior to serving. The Jade 1901 is a personal favorite, made by Ted Broux who worked hard to revive absinth and have it declared a legal spirit again. Oh, if you have visited Graceland, you may recognize one of the absinth drippers in his basement. It looked like these antique drippers."
"Great experience, knowledgeable bar tender. Get the absinthe, they do it correctly. Update: 4 stars, not all of their bartenders pour correctly. Menu says 2 ounces and he poured around 1.25... I commented and he told me to *leave it alone*"
