from Google & Yelp"I'm not a breakfast person but my sister is so we went their for breakfast. I got the chicken and waffles and they were really good. Made with a thigh. Really juicy. My sister got the shrimp and grits really liked them. But the biscuit she absolutely loved and still hasnt stopped talking about it since we got back home from California. It was so good she ordered a second and I tasted the second. So fluffy. It was amazing the service was great as well. Everyone was friendly from the chef to our server. If you get the chance you need to try this place!!!"
"The Ruby Slipper is a must-visit for a delicious brunch! The service was absolutely on point—my coffee cup was never empty and, more importantly, never cold. The portions were really generous and everything tasted fresh. A total staple in town if you want a great meal with attentive service. Highly recommend!"
"Ruby Slipper is an extremely popular brunch restaurant. This was apparent from the outset when we arrived and saw people standing about in cold weather waiting for their tables. We added ourselves to the waitlist and walked about before our table was ready roughly an hour later. This was a far cry from the 30 minutes that was initially estimated but no big deal. The hostess tried to scratch our name off as no-shows when she started calling named for ready tables and I didn’t hear her say mine after one call but I was able to intervene before her hasty decision. Maybe a couple of call outs before erasing someone would be a better approach after an hour wait. The food was decent, albeit slightly underwhelming from its lofty reputation. The eggs benedict were good but the meat (fried chicken and pork) was a bit dry and took away from the overall quality. The migas my wife had were not very good so this is definitely not their specialty dish. Best to avoid, especially if you’re used to eating good migas. The Bloody Marys were as good as advertised and definitely recommended. Perfect level of spiciness and a decent amount of pickled veggies. Get it with the bacon. The service was adequate but nothing remarkable. The group of eight next to us received their food before our table of two. Confusing more than infuriating but eye-raising nonetheless. All told, it was a decent experience and I might try it again to explore more of the food they’re renowned for but it did not blow my mind beyond other brunching experiences I’ve had."
"Nice place! Really friendly and prompt service at the bar. Food was good, though the raw spinach garnish was a bit wilted and I felt like it got a bit trampled by the rest of the dish and didn’t really have its own place. The fried chicken was really nice and juicy and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. Overall I think it was a good meal and a nice place to dip in for brunch in the city."
"We loved our meal and the amazing service by Nandi! Everyone was very attentive and kind. Nandi gave us wonderful recommendations and clearly knew the menu well. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and good portions. We had the bread pudding pancakes which were like a mix between French toast and pancakes and were very indulgent. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and the hot honey fried chicken was the perfect balance of heat and sweet. The fried green tomatoes were also great! Would highly recommend!"
