"Good poboy and friendly service. The place was pretty busy when I went but the line moved relatively quickly. Ordered the Ray Ray, which was fried chicken with ham and Swiss. Pretty solid and they use that crunchy French bread. Red beans needed a little salt, but pretty good. There was a little miscommunication on my part ordering a side salad, but it was taken care of with no issues. Overall a good experience and would return when in the area. Next time- roast beef poboy."

"Im done with Sammys!! I dont know when or where the changes has come from. But the food me and my family in town and from out of town would purchase are gone. I ordered fried trout bakes macs and cornbread dressing and dessert if not the cheese come was always peach cobbler. The worst 25 i spent and it wont happen again! The trout tasted like catfish 1 i dont like catfish! Cornbread dressing no flavor and baked macs was cheese sauce and elbows. The final staw for me was the peach cobbler with not 1 peace of brown or truly backed crust in/on it! See it for you self on the pics. What happened to Sammys good cooked foods?!"

"I am heartbroken to have to write this review. Like some other reviews I just read, Sammy's has lost their swagger. I have talked this rearaurant up for years, and brought many people (locals and visitors) here over the last few years. NO MORE! The main issue was the brisket plate I ordered. This was literally the worst piece of meat I have ever been served. I'd call it shoe leather but that would be insulting to all shoes. The worst part is that there is LITERALLY NO WAY THAT THE COOK DID NOT KNOW HE/SHE WAS SERVING ME GARBAGE. THIS PIECE OF MEAT WAS SO HARD AND DRY IT WAS OBVIOUS. I worked in restaurants for 2 decades, and I understand food cost and not wasting food, but you cannot serve complete, inedible garbage. So you saved a few bucks by giving me this crap. The result? I can no longer recommend Sammy's. I will no longer bring anyone in to dine at Sammy's. Granted, I don't go that often, but last time I was there (Jazz Fest) we had a.party of six. The time before that we had 3, all who.came because I recommended we go there. Even if I am coming in only 3 or 4 times a year, was saving $3 by serving me old, dried out garbage meat worth it? Even when by myself, I usually order at least 2 entrees (had brisket plate and stuffed shrimp plate today). No more. Serve me garbage and lose me. When I pulled up, I thought Sammy's may be closed, as there was not one car parked in front, which is very unusual. The girl behind the register said it was slow, and now I know why. You've GOT to do better. To be fair, the stuffed shrimp and creamed spinach were OK. The baked beans were more sausage than beans, amd just OK. Potato salad and mac & cheese were bland. And I've never been a fan of the creamy horseradish sauce for the shrimp. A comeback sauce or remolade would be a better fit. That's why I take it home and use one of those. Anyway, Will probably be a very long time before I head back to your restaurant, and I.won't bring anyone back until you get your act togerher."

"2/10 food service price was bad, the food was not good. I had the recommended chicken and red beans along with the roast beef sandwich. It was not good. The service was bad. You would think that I forced them to make my food. The only thing that was good was the atmosphere it is very lunch place coded."

"I tried to New Orleans food for the first time, it wasn't really good. The Hot Sausage was dry, cornbread dressing wasn't really good, and maybe cuz I'm used to eating it with cranberry sauce.
