What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"First time going. I got the pablano and pork hash. Amazing. Everything on the plate tasted different, but the flavor blended so well together. My wife got the bagel plate with lox, which was also awesome. Everything was fresh and light. I also appreciated their selection of Pressed juices. I will definitely be going back."
"I visited Satsuma today for lunch with my young sister and my 80-year-old grandmother. While we were waiting for someone to come take our order, we grabbed a table so my grandmother could sit down, as she wasn’t feeling well. When I tried to explain this to the waitress with short brown hair and glasses, she cut me off and told us to get up because we hadn’t ordered yet and couldn’t “save” a table. The only reason we sat early was out of concern for my grandmother. We did eventually get a table and ate for about 30 minutes. As we were finishing up, a different waitress came over and asked if we’d be sitting there for a while. I told her we were about to leave, but the interaction made us feel rushed out. The service felt unprofessional and lacking basic courtesy. I understand having rules about tables, but asking a child and an elderly woman to stand while we were waiting to order, and not even letting me explain, felt unnecessary. The food was mediocre as well. With so many great places to eat in New Orleans, I’d recommend Fresco’s, Shug’s Bagels, or Maple Street Cafe instead in this area!"
"The Dr. Suess sandwich was really good. The green eggs are fun. The pork hash was delicious. I would definitely eat here again!"
"I have visited this coffee shop twice and both times loved everything I saw and ate. The atmosphere is conducive to work as well as social gatherings. It seems a lively spot in its community. Additionally, I like very much that 12% gratuity is added automatically. I think most people give at least that much and having it already added means that you can just order and be done while knowing that everyone that works there shares that tip and it helps provide a standard living wage consistently. For that alone, I would be a patron but it has more! The teas are wonderful. The hibiscus tea is a rare and welcome find. The menu is inviting and can be modified. Everything is made fresh. There's a good amount of parking and pets are welcome. There is an adorable water station outside. I most definitely recommend Satsuma!"
"I found another breakfast spot today. It's a cute little breakfast/brunchy spot on a cozy corner. I got the basic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and wheat toast. The eggs were nice and fluffy. The bacon was a nice, thick cut that had the perfect crisp. It wasn't them old flimsy, weak pieces that some places give you! The wheat toast was good as well, and the jam spread was super delish!! It definitely had a chill, relaxed atmosphere... Next time, I'd like to try the sandwiches!!"
"First time here, you order at the counter and they give you a number and you seat yourself. We got there around 8:30 on a Saturday morning and every table..."
