"I came to NOLA as a cook to find some good food and found it here. Get the “Taste Of New Orleans, Baby”! Great prices, wonderfully kind and genuine people. The bartender was even kind enough to talk to me for a little bit and give me some more places to check out locally. Definitely stop in here. Great place."

"Stumbled upon The Channel on a Thursday morning while walking the Garden District. The sign advertised breakfast, so I stopped in to the charming building. It's nicely tucked into a quiet residential area. After waiting for six minutes at the ordering window, one of the two staff members stopped her tasks to take my order. I was the only customer there and I was worried between that and the standoffish wait that I had accidentally come in while they were closed. Nope. I checked the sign - it was open. I ordered the beignets and a coke. I received some very small, hard pucks. The taste wasn't horrible, but the little guys were tough to eat. I was too nervous to address the staff, choked down a bit of one beignet and left. The other reviews praise the restaurant, so I must have stopped in at an odd time. Take that for what it's worth!"

"The Firecracker Shrimp Po’ Boy I had here back in May was SO GOOD! The bartender we had was so personable and told so many stories. We stopped in because of the rain, and was surprised by the food and hospitality."

"My mother and I had just wrapped up the Hop On Hop Off’s Garden District tour and we stumbled upon this place for lunch. I’m so glad we did because we had an unforgettable firecracker fried shrimp po’ boy! We loved it so much that we went out of our way to grab lunch here again later on our trip!"

"Was recently a first-time visitor during a weekend getaway and visited to meet the Texas Exes chapter for the Longhorns football game. If you love sports, this is your spot. Oustanding TV setup. Anywhere you sit has screens and they're attentive when it comes to changing channels for upcoming games. Good vibe. While I wouldn't call it a classic dive bar, it's also not a stuffy place trying to present some new, upscale way to be a sports bar. It's simply a good sports bar. We arrived when it was very busy and while the bar space isn't very long, the staff made sure orders were taken and drinks were served quickly. You could tell they know how to handle a crowd. The frozen Irish coffee... I miss it already. Smooth, creamy with all the right flavor notes yet none that overwhelm. It's not too sweet. It's not too strong. It's just right. Beer selection was just average, but, again, this is just a sports bar trying to be a good sports bar. If you want a selection of 49 different craft beers and 30 things on draft, this isn't your spot. As for the food, we stuck to a lot of cajun items mostly fried. The $5 fried pickles and $13 taste of Nola might've been the best bang-for-the-buck we had in New Orleans. And the menu was deep with Cajun items... they play the hits and the prices were great. We had such a good time on Saturday night we stopped in for another frozen Irish coffee on Sunday while shopping around the nearby neighborhood."
