from Google & Yelp"Imagine your favorite pillow and how it feels just as your head is hitting it for the night. The comfort. The softness. How your head just settles in…. Today, I had the privilege of experiencing that feeling with a Lowder’s Chantilly King Cake. We stopped by to purchase one for a business lunch we were hosting and I never dreamed that it would be this amazing! Most king cakes I have eaten have a bit of density in the bread. That’s not a bad thing. It’s just something I expect when eating a king cake. That all changed today. My first bite into this glorious goodness yielded the adjective “pillowy.” The height and the softness of this delectable dessert was unexpected. My next thought was the ratio of strawberry filling to the cake itself was spot on! Whether or not I bother to eat a king cake is mostly determined by the amount of filling. I think my eyes rolled back in my head with every bite! I’ll take this king cake every day of the week until Mardi Gras season has ended, and then I’ll dream of it until the next year! It is worth the calories and worth the price!"
"I saw some of the posts about whole wheat and whole grain breads (from 6 years ago, 🤦🏼♂️, my mistake), so I looked forward to stopping here on my next trip to Shreveport. Also saw they had milk from a local dairy, pasteurized but not homogenized. The staff was very courteous. However, I was rather disappointed to find they no longer make any whole grain breads, just white bread. I did buy a loaf to try, but found it rather bland, even when I used some for French Toast. I'm just not a fan of white bread in general. I much prefer 100% whole wheat, so I'm back to making it myself at home. I did buy a cinnamon roll, which was quite good and quite large. It was 3 servings for me. I also bought a gallon of milk from the local dairy. It was quite creamy. And with our bumpy roads here in Louisiana, the cream on top churned into butter by the time I got home to Monroe. 🤣 I laid it on its side in the cooler for the trip home, and you can see the streaks of butter adhering to the sides of the jug in the attached pictures. 😳 Preparing to post this I see there is now a location in Ruston that has been open about 5 months according to the reviews. I'll have to stop by there since it is much closer for me, and maybe they carry the milk at that location, too. 🤗"

"We bought this king cake on Thursday, but it was stale by Friday morning. I don't know how long it's been made, but it should be fresh for the price we paid. This is unacceptable, and I won't return. Instead, I'll take my business elsewhere. They had way too much ice on it. It glitched your teeth when you ate it."
"Lowder Bakery is fantastic! A cute neighborhood location and everything is really fresh! All of the pastries are full of flavor. Wonderful customer service and I also met the owners...nice people! Highly recommend!"
"The sausage and cheese croissants are a 10/10!!! Flaky croissant with a savory sausage filling. The outside tastes slightly sweet. I came for a cream cheese..."
