About Café G

Sleek museum cafe (open to the public) with an upscale global menu often inspired by art exhibits.

What People Are Saying

from Google & Yelp

"Ate here in-between my visit as I arrived to the museum hungry. 😂 It was definitely busy, but there was a table for one available and I got seated right away. The service was alright...not very attentive, but it was quite busy and tables were rotating fast with new customers. I ordered the Pan-Seared Cod Cake as my waitress informed me it was a favorite of hers. My food came out quick and the cod cake tasted great! I was happy with the recommendation. For my drink I tried their Peaflower tea but asked to have some lemonade mixed in! ☺️"

"I ordered Chicken Salad Tartine. It was absolutely tasteless. It was not even bad. It just didn't had any taste. And the price of this tasteless dish was $22. Additionally, the serving size was unbelievably small, especially for the US standards. Chocolate Budino was okay, but nothing special. It's really sad that this kind of cafe is located in the building of this great museum."

"The Buratta accompanied with maple roasted farm squash, baby greens, quinoa, seeds, is a yummy dish. The pea flower iced tea is a must. Picked up a lovely tin of this tea to enjoy at home."

★★★★★

"The food was pretty good, well-cooked, the presentation of the drinks and food was nice, however the service definitely ruined the experience. We weren’t offered any water (which I understand may not be given without the request), we couldn’t order our drinks first because the server refused to take drink orders separately from the food orders. And lastly, upon paying, our server immediately pressed 20% tips, which as it is I would have payed but it felt disrespectful. The waitress was rushing conversations and being impatient, even though it was not that busy."

"Well-lit space with natural light, and hearty season meals; what more can we ask? We were here on a weekday and it was rather quiet. Seated right away, and served by a very kind staff who was very knowledgeable of the menu. Our cassoulet was very lovely! The chef took more of a modern approach than traditional, but it was very delicious with the right amount of kick. I even learned that you can come use the restaurant as a non-museum visitor. Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in the area."
