"I'm sorry to tell you that your only option for coffee at TimeOut Market is Cafe Lulu. I've been twice, and both experiences were underwhelming. Most recently, I was meeting a friend for lunch at the market and needed a pick-me-up. I ordered a large nitro coffee and the person at the counter walked to the back bar repeating "cold brew". When I confirmed my order with him as he poured it, he pointed to the tap and told me that he this is what I ordered. I told him that the product looked like a plain cold brew coffee. He said "well, the tap is labeled nitro." I pointed out that one would expect some level of foaming for a nitro(genated) coffee and he sort of shrugged it off. I said, "you should check your tank and lines if this is supposed to be nitro" and he said, "I can ask my manager." At this point I had already paid and tipped around $8 and was beginning to regret it. The icing on the coffee so to speak was that the cafe only seemed to have almond milk and oat milk available. I was puzzled that they would stock a major allergen but not dairy milk. I now understand that the cafe is vegan, but I missed the signage since I was just here for the coffee counter. My impression was that they were just understaffed and understocked. Why didn't the staffmember apologize and explain that the cafe was vegan? A missed opportunity all around. The coffee was fine, but the whole interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. Cross the street and go to Starbucks or find the Tatte or Pavement a block away on Boylston if you are in dire need of caffeine."
