What People Are Saying
from Google"Fun trivia on Tuesdays and chill atmosphere. I ordered the Thai fried dumplings and they were smothered in sauce which I would ask for on the side next time. The waiter we had seemed in a hurry to get our order (even though we were there for trivia for 90 minutes) and never checked in to see how we were doing during that whole time. I got an unfriendly/uninterested vibe and would sit at the bar next time if he's there. Overall, it's a conveniently located place but there are plenty of other bars with trivia, friendly service, and food that isn't soaked :/"
"Went with a large party of about 20 to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were basically the only party in the place. Ordered fries, nachos, curry fries, chip and dip, potato wedges, and mozz stick things. Only the fries were good. Chips tasted stale. Multiple people didn’t get their drink and had to ask for them again. Server spilled 1/2 of my Washington Apple all over the floor infront of me and didn’t offer to give me another- other drinks like the pear drink were almost entirely tasting of sugar water… and overall not good. The only palatable beverage was the N/A Moscow mule which WAS very good. The bartender was great, but the server seemed out of his element. We felt bad and tried helping him clean, and I get we were a large party, but so many things went wrong/were underwhelming to make up for it. Overall the vibe was very quiet, as they turned the music almost completely off upon official closing but WELL before anyone had settled up, and underwhelming. *** EDIT*** I came back to change my atmosphere review from 3 to 1 star because their mix of 1940-60’s signs, band art, and vintage booze advert signs plus the U2 poster really doesn’t deserve 3. Also the big “barber shop” sign. Not a fan."
"Fries aside, blandest food I’ve had in decades. My carrots (which were subbed in place for another vegetable without telling me in advance) were undercooked to the point of being raw. The Alfredo sauce (at least the waiter told me it was Alfredo) had zero flavor - no garlic, no Parmesan, not even salt or pepper. Weirdly flavorless. Ditto for friend’s gravy, and their broccoli was cooked into mush. Wouldn’t have eaten if I wasn’t starving. Thankfully another friend shared their fries and those were fantastic, so maybe they have other good recipes. Could be cook specific too. Who knows. First and last time coming here. Oh, and the guy who took our drink orders took ages to get to our table especially considering the place was empty, seemed annoyed while taking them, then went back to playing a handheld video game. Nobody asked how the meals were. Very hands off. Maybe that’s the style here. Did lunch earlier in the day next door at Brassica and the service and food were both fantastic. So if you have a choice…"
"We’ve been here a few times and it has always been awesome! The food and beverages are fairly priced and delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and we’ve had friendly service. And as weird as I feel saying this about an Irish pub…their chicken parm is some of the best I’ve ever had, and we were extremely impressed with the bruschetta during our last visit. Check this place out the next time you’re in Jamaica Plain, I’m sure you’ll love it!"
"**Eugene O'Neill's: A Hidden Gem by Forest Hills MBTA** Across the street from the Forest Hills MBTA bus station, Eugene O'Neill's exudes charm and warmth from the moment you step in. My recent lunch experience there was nothing short of delightful. From the get-go, the service at Eugene O'Neill's was exceptional. Attentive and friendly staff made us feel welcome, setting the tone for a pleasant meal ahead. My friend and I opted for classics: a BLT with avocado and a Reuben, both served with steak fries. The sandwiches were a revelation. The BLT, adorned with avocado, offered a refreshing twist on a beloved classic. Meanwhile, the Reuben boasted the perfect balance of flavors and textures, leaving us craving more with every bite. Accompanied by golden, crispy steak fries, each component of our meal was executed flawlessly. What truly stood out, beyond the delicious food, was the ambiance. Eugene O'Neill's possesses an inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch or a relaxed evening with friends. The cozy interior and welcoming vibe added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. Overall, Eugene O'Neill's surpassed expectations in every aspect. From the impeccable service to the mouthwatering fare, it's evident why this establishment is a local favorite. As for me, I'll eagerly be back for more culinary delights and memorable moments at Eugene O'Neill's. Highly recommended."
