"DoorDash has a good two for one deal. I’ve tried another dish at a different location before and liked it. This time I got the Spicy Chicken Karahi ($11.85). It was indeed spicy. Some pieces of chicken were dry, and I would have liked more green beans, but the portion size was filling. It also came with some random crackers, but I liked them."

"Flavor Boom is one of my go-to places for a quick, inexpensive, and tasty meal. The bowls are always warm, full to the brim, and packed with flavor. I love their chicken adobo, tangy tamarind chicken, and beef stew. There’s almost always space to eat inside as well, if you want to eat it right away. Highly recommend!"

"First time here, we were greeted by a lovely employee with fun green color hair. The boomin' beef rendang and garlic paprika pulpo (with added green bean in both dishes) we delicious. Some of the beef were on the tougher side, but the flavor concoction mixed in with the rice is fantastic! I definitely LOVE the garlic paprika pulpo, hands down would order it again! Both bowls were large/family size, which was just enough to fill us up for a dinner (slighty on the pricey side). A fast casual type of vibe."

"Ready to order Asian and Mediterranean food in a paper bowl. Service: Ordering was easy. The different sizes bowls are displayed up front. You order at a kiosk. The worker points you toward them if you walk up, but they still helped answer a question I had about sizes because I didn't see the bowls for sizing, which were covered by takeout bags. Food: I tried the Boomin' Beef Rendang. The meat is very tender and savory. It is also fatty and pulls apart. The rice is fully cooked although a bit watery. It is just plain white rice, nothing fancy, but seemed maybe a bit subpar quality. The potatoes are soft and salty. The green beans seem like the soggy chewy canned kind, so I don't recommend the extra $1.50 for them, although they are the only option for adding some greens to the mix for this dish if you want more vegetables. Atmosphere: The place was clean. There are three medium sized tables with space for four people each, four seats along a wall, and four windows seats. There was a mix of pop and hip hop and rap music playing, some with expletives, so be careful if you're bringing kids here. There were no children around at the time. Was I impressed overall? No. Is it a great option to easily some Asian or Mediterranean dishes? Probably. The protein seems great, just not the rest. I am curious to come back to try other options and see how they are."

"I came here for a Yelp event but I've actually been to the Watertown location back when it opened as well. Overall I was much more impressed with Flavor Boom during this visit, which I think has to do with the dishes I ordered. First off, the beef rendang is incredible!! It's everything I could ask for in a dish and more. Piping hot, savory, tender beef with complex flavors, saucing up the rice. SO good. The garlic pulpo was much more mild in flavor than the beef, with more traditional seasoning. Some of the pieces were a bit tough, but the bigger pieces were quite tender. Given the powerful flavors elsewhere on the menu, I probably wouldn't get this again. I tried the shrimp curry at the Watertown location and recall that it was quite spicy and the shrimp were a bit tough. I saw some reviews from the JP location saying similar things about the shrimp consistency as well, so I probably will not order this in the future from either location (despite being a shrimp fanatic). We sampled all of the other meat dishes and here's our final ranking. 1. Beef rendang 2. Black pepper pork - punch of savory and kick from pepper, very good 3. Red glazed pork - very tender and savory (though it wasn't red) 4. Spicy chicken/beef stew - both tomatoey, chicken has quite the kick 5. Tamarind chicken, garlic pulpo, shrimp curry From what we tried of the chicken, it seemed a bit over-cooked (to the point of falling apart a bit too much). I've had this experience when pressure cooking chicken -- it doesn't achieve that tenderness that beef and pork do in the same cooking situation. Overall these dishes really live up to the name of Flavor Boom! JP is a bit far for me so I would probably go to the Watertown location in the future. The beef rendang is really something else, and worth the visit alone."
