"What happened to the chocolate sauce that we get to pour all over the Boston cream pie?! That was a real highlight. Please bring it back! Now, the balance of the review. We have been coming here for years, as I lived down the street for quite some time, and then, after we moved away, we come once a year so I can take my nanny out for lunch and a Boston cream pie. This has been a tradition for many years. The highlight, of course, is the Boston cream pie, and this is the first year that it has not been served with a side of chocolate sauce for us to dribble all over it. The server always used to bring out the chocolate sauce and then they would either drizzle it all over it or we would drizzle it all over it, but this time it came out and just seemed to be not nearly as special. The rest of the food is always fine. The service is good. They have a nice selection of seasonal sandwiches and meats and fishes and pastas and other dishes. Depending on the season, we have had salad, deviled eggs, sandwiches etc. But the highlight has always been the aforementioned Boston cream pie. Please look at the photos from 2024 and the photos from 2025. Compare the difference in joy and the difference in the pie itself when it has fresh chocolate poured all over it. Please please please bring back the fresh warm chocolate!"

"My dad and I stopped in on the 4th of July. We put our names down for a 30 min wait but ended up being seated outside in less than 10. The people watching was great. Our server was amazing - haven’t that great of attention to detail in awhile! We got a couple of cocktails, calamari, tomato and burrata salad, pasta, and a Boston cream pie. Every thing had a lot of flavor and was delicious! Would definitely come back!"

"Wife, daughter and I was her on Saturday after dorm move in. It took 30 minutes for an outside table on a busy sunny day which was quite good. The lobster avocado toast and burrata salad were excellent and the service was good"

"My wife and I went here for brunch on a cold Saturday morning in Boston. The restaurant was mostly empty, but we were sat right by the large windows and door, so we were freezing cold the entire time, didn’t even take off our jackets. After sitting, I noticed my silverware and side plate were dirty. And a spider fell from the ceiling, landing next to my wife. Service was okay, but fairly slow and impersonal. We ordered the monkey bread to start. Do not order this. It’s a crumbly, flavorless muffin they took out of the oven yesterday and then drizzle with a ridiculous amount of caramel, with the paper wrapping still on! Why not take the wrapper off? We were picking pieces of paper out of our primate pastry persistently. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict, which she reported was “fine”. I ordered the skillet breakfast. I’m not sure if they use a specific cleaner on the cast iron or something, but that slight taste of chemicals was coming through. My biscuit was even more crumbly than the monkey bread and far drier as it was not drowned in caramel sauce. Each bite was a 5 minute conversation interruption as that’s how long it took for my mouth to salivate enough to swallow. The bacon and eggs were fine. The sausage was cold and the casing chewy. And the cheesy house fries felt like cutting through Shelob’s lair to free my Mordor-bound potatoes. And by Mordor-bound, I mean they were very over cooked. I will go out of my way not to eat here again."

"A Russian female server’s unfair seating assignment and dismissive attitude made my experience at this restaurant extremely upsetting today. Even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and there were plenty of empty tables, she told me I could only choose between two specific tables — both uncomfortable spots without parasols. I politely asked, “Would it be possible to sit at one of the tables under the parasol instead?” Her response was a firm, “No.” What made this worse was that, right next to me, another solo customer was already seated under a parasol. I couldn’t understand why I was being restricted, and when I asked for an explanation, the server completely ignored my questions. I want to emphasize that the other staff members were kind and tried to assist me, but this specific server continued to treat me with complete disregard. From start to finish, I felt deeply disrespected and humiliated as a paying customer. Finally, I told her directly, “Your behavior is racist and discriminatory.” It was uncomfortable and stressful for me to say this, but I felt it was necessary so that no other customer would have to go through the same unfair treatment. The manager later came over to apologize, and I also received a direct apology from the server. However, this is not an issue that can be resolved with a simple apology. I strongly urge the management to provide proper training so that all customers are treated equally and respectfully, regardless of race or background."
