"Today, I went to Terra to have lunch. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a kind front desk person who immediately took me to my pre-booked table. Everything was very clean and the ambiance of the restaurant was exceptional. A waiter came to me to offer water and as soon as I declined, I told him that I know everything and I would like to order. He looked at me and walked away. Then, a waitress came to take my order. It was a little odd to start my lunch experience like this. I ordered a diet MoleCola, a Cavatelli Al Ragú di Terra, and a Tiramisú di Eataly. The cola was okay but I liked the fact that it was genuine Italian. I waited around 30-ish minutes for the pasta to be served which on one side is good because you know it’s made fresh, on the other it might have taken a little bit too much time. Overall, it didn’t taste bad but I expected a little more. The portion was just enough. I wanted to order some bread to eat with the ragu but I was told it’s not an option, and they could only make me a full sourdough bread. I was a little confused as this restaurant is claimed to be Italian and they don’t have smaller portions of bread? Anyways, after finishing the pasta I got the “viral” tiramisu and I honestly didn’t like it. It felt like it was a parfait cake, very dense and not light at all. The cream poured over on top wasn’t too creamy, it was more like a soup and mildly warm. As the plastic wrap was being taken off the side of the tiramisu by a waiter, the “cream” was poured all over the table and some almost landed on my jeans and shoes. I cleaned up as much as I could and was offered another napkin from a waiter to fully clean the mess myself. Overall, the lunch cost me $58 and I don’t think it was worth it. I could definitely have a better quality lunch in the North End, with similarly good (if not better) ingredients, and a way better service for this price. And I could also get some bread on the side on request, as a genuine Italian restaurant would actually offer."

The meal began with freshly baked sourdough bread served with creamy buffalo butter—an excellent start to our evening. We shared an array of appetizers, including flavorful beef and chicken skewers that were simply unreal. As for our main courses, I opted for the halibut, which was accompanied by black kale, crispy chickpeas, and chopped sweet potatoes. Each bite was delicious and perfectly executed. My dinner companion selected the freshly made pasta with sausage, mushrooms, and a rich black truffle sauce that was a delightful highlight of the meal. The quality of food truly deserved a "Chef's Kiss." Additionally, the wait staff were not only knowledgeable about the menu but also personable, enhancing our overall experience. An added benefit was the validation for parking, making the visit even more convenient. Overall, Terra provides a perfect balance of taste, ambiance, and service. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful meal in Boston."

"Our experience at Terra in Boston was extremely disappointing from start to finish. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation, the food was shockingly bland and lacked any real flavor. Every dish we ordered felt underseasoned and uninspired, especially considering the prices. We expected authentic, well-executed Italian food and instead felt like we wasted our money. When we arrived, our party consisted of seven people. Shortly after being seated, we asked if we could add two more guests, a mother and daughter who were part of our group. Instead of handling this professionally or with any sense of hospitality, the manager approached us and stated that we would need to meet a $45 minimum per person just to add them. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that we could clearly see the manager standing nearby and calculating whether we had already spent $45 per person before allowing the additional guests to join us. It felt awkward, invasive, and incredibly uncomfortable. The service did not improve the experience. The servers never smiled, did not seem happy to be serving us, and made the entire meal feel tense rather than enjoyable. There was no warmth or attentiveness, which you would expect from a restaurant of this reputation. The only positive aspect of our visit was the dessert menu, which was genuinely enjoyable and the only part of the meal that met expectations. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the rest of the experience. Overall, the atmosphere felt awkward, the policies were poorly explained, and the lack of hospitality was very clear. We left feeling frustrated, uncomfortable, and disappointed. We will never eat here again and would not recommend this location to anyone."
