"I have been looking forward to coming here for a while and it delivered. We started with the melitzanosalata (charred eggplant) spread, saganaki, and the beet salad. The spread was very garlicky but otherwise tasty. The beet salad was delicious. I wish their bread had been toasted. It was clearly great bread but could have used some freshening. The saganaki was also great and complemented by some sweet pears that had been almost confited by the cheese’s fat. We shared the Vlach Giorti and braised beef cheek. Since it was the first time the Vlach giorti was a good way to try everything. I loved that it was a just a slab filled with grilled meats. Few things are better. The steak and lamb were so flavourful and unbelievably tender. Definitely the standouts. I don’t care much for sausage and the chicken was extremely juicy but a bit one note flavour wise. The beef cheek was also amazing if you like braised meat. Super decadent. We finished with the galatopita which was only okay. A bit of a weird texture on the cake and ice cream was good but not special. Still thinking about the beef and lamb. It was seriously delicious and worth visiting for. Service was great and helpful with the menu and allergies. The space was super open and nice. Not too loud, nice decor, nice view into the grill area, high ceilings, and the right amount of light."

"Bar Vlaha is a neighborhood gem. Been coming here since it first opened for both brunch and dinner. The food and drinks here are good and very consistent. We can usually count on a good meal here. Our favorites are the sourdough and spreads, beef cheeks, shakshuka, yogurt, grilled fish and fried mushroom. While nothing is exceptional, everything is good. The only complaint that we have is that, once in a while, they are a bit heavy handed on the salt. But, overall, we are impressed by their consistency in being able to deliver a good meal almost every time that we have dined here. It's a sign of a well run restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient. The relaxing vibes lets you focus on enjoying a good meal and conversations, although it can get quite loud. We are lucky to have this restaurant in our neighborhood."

"I came to Bar Vlaha to celebrate my birthday, but also to check out some Greek-style food. What initially was a last-minute and arbitrary decision became the best decision I have made. The ambiance was nice, gave such a village, rusty feel. The staff greeted me, they were upbeat, courteous and personable. It felt like a team effort, where the manager, servers and bussers all worked synergistically to provide a great experience for myself and my family. The food and drinks were superb. I tried the wild boar shoulder, red wine, warm spices, hilopites, manouri, and it was tender and absolutely delicious. I sampled some of my family member's spinach, with rice, dill, lemon and eggplant with potato, feta, garlic, onion, tomato sauce and was WOW'd. I washed it down with a Miso Miso (a rye with chicory) and a Vlaha Blast (rum, with salep, mastiha, lime sorbet) and they were made like a great mixologist would. Just when I thought everything was all set, my family had mentioned to them it was my birthday and they gave me a wonderful dessert with a mix of amazing treats. Throughout our meals, the service from the team was attentive and accommodating. I want to thank one of the servers (I believe he goes by AJ for short) and the manager (I wish I remembered his name) for providing such excellent service. Tasty food, attentiveness, positive, upbeat, and accommodating. I recommend anyone going here."

"I previously came to Bar Vlaha for a WMA reunion event and knew I had to come back to try the full menu. I just went for brunch with my husband and it was absolutely delicious. We tried so many items and the waiter made some amazing recommendations as well. Everything was cooked perfectly and we smashed the dips platter. If you’ve been thinking about going, it’s the perfect excuse to get out the house and enjoy some unique comfort food!"

"We're visiting from out of town to celebrate our anniversary and decided to try Bar Vlaha as it isn't far from where we're staying. We immediately noticed how thoughtful and attentive the staff were. The food was equally as amazing. The tzatziki was so thick and creamy- I would get it every day if I could! We also tried the AGRIOGOUROUNO (wild boar) and KONTOSOUVLI (chicken). The wild boar was such a warm, comforting dish. Dessert was fantastic too! This is the type of place that I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area and that we will come back to if we visit again."
