About Blossom Bar at Sichuan Garden
Sleek restaurant offering spicy Sichuan dishes, as well as a bar with specialty cocktails.
What People Are Saying
from Google"Had a team party with deliveries from Sichuan Garden. According to the native from the region, the food is pretty authentic. Some dishes can be super spicy. I particularly liked the eggplant and wen jun fish. Those with "dry" meat were meant to be dry, sort of like jerky but with coating outside. Dishes with cayenne chilli WERE hot (at least for me). What impressed me, though, was how the food was not salty. I'm sensitive to salt levels and the food was just right. The rice seemed to be jasmine, it wad well-cooked and had a very pleasant aroma. Had a very good lunch and experience overall, albeit via delivery. Would recommend and will probably order again."
"We visited Blossom Bar at Sichuan Garden while in town from out of state. On a Thursday evening, my daughter and I were seated outside and decided to make it an adventure — we told our waitress, “You know the menu, curate a dinner that shows off your best dishes.” She brought us a drink and took our order, which ended up being some sort of dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, hot chicken, fried rice, a beef dish, and a variation on an old fashioned. Here’s where things took a turn: shortly after taking our order, our waitress… left the restaurant. Literally. The food runner brought out the dishes but didn’t explain what anything was, so we weren’t totally sure what we were eating. No one ever came by to check on us, refill our water (which you really need with spicy food), or ask if we wanted another drink. By the time someone finally asked if we wanted another round, we were already done eating. When we asked where our waitress was, we were told she had gone home early. The food itself was solid — tasty enough, but nothing that really wowed us, especially for the price. Honestly, the drinks seemed to be the strongest part of the experience, but I only got to try one before we were left on our own. Not the worst night out, but definitely not the service or standout flavors we were hoping for."
"Decent Sichuan food - we ordered the crispy fish, string beans, spicy beef and duck breast. Of these, I think the fish and beef were probably the stronger dishes - the flavor for the beef was there and the fish has a nice texture. However, I did think the duck breast wasn’t very flavorful and felt similarly about the string beans. Overall, it was an okay meal, but would not go out of my way for this again."
"I feel obligated to post a review now that Blossom has changed over their staff and completely obliterated their previous (stellar!!) cocktail program. We have been longtime Blossom fans for years, was previously our favorite cocktail spot in the city, our go to for any celebration or as a spot to take guests from out of town. Earlier this fall they turned over their entire bar staff which included some of the best mixologists in the city, and they got rid of their old cocktail menu and launched a new limited cocktail menu which is much smaller and far less interesting than their prior menu. We went and tried to order off the menu “bartenders choice” and were met with completely blank stares. They previously employed such talented mixologists who could make you any custom cocktail but when I asked for a gin cocktail I was told all they could do was a gin and tonic. This coming from what was previously one of the top 10 ranked best cocktail bars on the east coast where the mixologists used to come up with amazingly interesting cocktails on the fly. Please bring back the old cocktail menu. The Tito Puente, Malatang, Queens Court, Broken Spanish were perfection, best cocktails in the city. The new cocktail menu is mediocre and people should just go to Baldwin bar for the same food and infinitely better drinks. The food is still superb. We will continue to order takeout as the food is outstanding. But for a night out with cocktails, we will go elsewhere."
"I would recommend to try to boneless pork rib that they have. I went when they first opened and recently. To be honest it’s much better at the beginning. One thing I would always complain is their tables are extremely small:) We love order a lot of food and that’s really annoying. We first asked the server if we could switch to a double table but he refused so I had to asked another server again to order more food. Cucumber salad used to be my favourite fish there but last time I tried I feel like they changed the recipe somehow. Anyway kinda pricey for a dinner of 2"
