What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"This place just offer ordinary coffees, but one of the most convenient and comfortable facilities around Harvard Square, for working or studying, like sofas and sockets. I think that’s the reason why there were always full of customers. Mocha: Hot and cocoa-y, but too small portions. I finished it with just a few sips."
"I felt compelled to write this after seeing the recent poor review which includes multiple false allegations. I'm a student here, so I go a few times a week and I know that most of the complaints in the latest review are blatantly false. The staff here are great and unless you require banking services or seek their help, they don't force anything. They cafe staff are efficient and always get my order right. This location DOES NOT have high turnover as the low rated review states, most if not all staff have been the same for at least the past two school years that I've been here. The banking staff here are helpful when needed, but if you don't require banking help they do not bother you aside from greeting you. They're quite friendly as I have seen many people approach them just to chat or ask questions. They do have to step when someone is being disruptive or otherwise causing issues, but I put the fault on this on the actual corporate entity of Capital One and not the actual staff in the cafe. Some suggestions for the decision makers at Capital One to prevent unfair reviews and confusion in the cafes: 1) put large and clear signage in reservation-only or banking-only spaces (the small squares basically don't do anything to prevent people in spaces they shouldn't be in); 2) allow these rooms to be locked by staff so people don't feel entitled to these spaces; 3) publicize in the cafe AND online what services are actually possible at cafe locations; 4) don't allow outside food/beverages; 5) require a cafe purchase or banking question to use the space. The latter two are personal gripes I have with the Capital One entity as it's annoying to walk into the cafe, make a purchase and then not have an open table because there are a bunch of people posted up with sweetgreen or Starbucks (RIP) In conclusion, the last 1 star review is full of lies and inconsistencies. Capital One decision makers need to make improvements that actually create a good environment for cafe customers and staff. Finally the banking/cafe staff on the ground do a 10/10 job given the orders they have to follow. Added photos I took of the current special menu and the cafe seating in case Google/Capital One tries to discredit my review lol"
"You get half off drinks on the wall menu with a capital one credit card. We got the iced honey lavender latte which was way too sugary and the iced mocha was tasted okay but has a sandy texture and not very smooth."
"Love all the locations but this one especially as i was visiting from Chicago needed to make a deposit. Took an Uber was very unfamiliar with the area. One of the staff cutie with platinum hair was so so helpful. He took the time to walk outside to help. I am truly grateful. The cafe was great also but good customer service is such a rarity these days. Thank you. 🙏"
"I love this cafe, amazing staff, great coffee and seats and 50% discount if you have a capital one card. For me, it’s the best value coffee shop in Harvard Square. Not packed at all unlike other ones. And many extra discounts, free samplers, etc…"
