Food: The bowls we assembled had great portion sizes and each ingredient looked super fresh and enticing; especially the fish options. The spicy salmon was definitely my favorite! Service: The one-woman serving team swiftly made the ordered and they provided quick service at checkout. The poke bar area was also kept nicely clean. Atmosphere: The seating area is simple and no fuss. It’s really just set up for quick visits."

"i love this place!! i've tried many poke places around the city and not once have i had a bowl elsewhere that i enjoyed as much as my go-to order here (the ono special with some personal preference modifications). i even moved out of cambridge for a couple years but when i returned and had the ono special again, it tasted exactly how i remembered, which really speaks to their consistency and how well established the business is. the ingredients are fantastic, and the staff are kind and accommodating—for example i was craving a sushi burrito today and i was able to get one (a sushi burrito version of my favorite bowl haha) even though i didn't seen that option on the menu. overall this is a lovely business; i highly recommend stopping by!!"

The number one thing I look for in a poke bar is reliable portion sizes. When these places first open, they usually get great reviews for their generous servings, but give it a few months, and the portions start shrinking until they’re no different from any other run-of-the-mill poke spot. Sure, creative toppings and unique sauces can add some flair, but if I can’t count on consistent portions from visit to visit, I’m less likely to return. That’s what sets Ono Pokebar apart. Most of the time, the bowls are served up by members of the owner’s family, so the portions are reliably the same every time. While they might not be the biggest bowls out there, they’re just the right size to leave me satisfied without worrying if I’ll still be hungry afterward.
