from Google & Yelp"My favorite cafe in Cambridge at the moment. Love coming here for quick bites. I’m not someone who follows a gluten-free diet, so when they first opened last year, I wasn’t sure what the pastry situation would be. But their pastry selections had a lot of interesting items that lean more Asian–European fusion, so I ended up focusing more on the flavors than the texture/flakiness. Things rotate pretty often, but most of what I’ve tried (ube brownie, matcha cookie, etc) were excellent. The food menu isn’t as adventurous as it was in the beginning, but their sandwiches are still solid. I still think about the congee soup they used to serve. Sweetness from the Thai sausage and caramelized onions, a little heat from the sausage itself, and subtle aromatics from the maitake mushrooms. Wish they kept it, but they still drop interesting seasonal salads and small plates from time to time. Drinks are a tad pricey, but the iced black sesame latte was one of the best sesame drinks I’ve had. Just enough sweetness to round out the natural bitterness of the sesame, with a clean, toasty finish that lingers really nicely."
"The actual place of my dreams. I’ve never had a more exquisite GF experience!!! Visiting from NY, I have a lot of experience with gluten free that is indulgent, yummy but also very junky and processed feeling. (GF doesn’t mean healthy!). But here…..everything I had was just absolutely well done!!!!! We came here on the first day of our trip to Mass and I’m so glad we did because we then went everyday again after that!!! The most delicious and perfectly textured breads, exciting t sweet treats. The coffee was perfect and hot chocolate was just right. We loved everything so much but our favorite was the pita filled with beef (Araya I think it was called). Not on the menu but one of the premade things they offer in the display case. I recommend everything BUT a unique experience is anything in their pita!!!! 🥙 how often do we get a fluffy pita pocket?! The baguettes are also out of this world. And the ciabatta!!! I brought alot of things home to freeze. But am already missing it….can we open one in westchester county NY?? It gets very crowded, first come first serve. Tables or benches are tricky to get so don’t count on it! Parking was metered/easy. No laptops on weekends, thoughtful because they want more people to get to sit! See all of our pics from each day!!!"
"Stumbled upon this cafe while scrolling on TikTok and decided to try it out. We ordered the banana miso cold brew which was ok. The banana foam had a slightly stronger banana flavor than I anticipated which was fine but with the cold brew I didn’t feel like the flavor matched. We also ordered a hot Italian sandwich which was pretty good, the bread was a little dry. The other sandwich we got was the chicken shawarma. We did not like this at all and the pita was so plain. Service was really good here despite the food being mediocre. Staff were well educated and friendly on the food and menu. I also feel like it was very overpriced for the food and drink here. If you plan to come on a weekend, be prepared to wait for a seat and table as it gets busy. Overall, I don’t think I would come again."
"The best gluten free bakery I’ve been to in the U.S. I ate here basically every day of my trip to Boston, and even stowed some away in my luggage to bring home. The food is amazing, the drinks were ok. I’d pass on the black sesame latte and get the ube matcha next time."
"Verveine is a gem for celiac and gluten free eaters! The food is decadent and delicious. The options are unique compared to the usual gluten free fare, however, not so unique that there are too many competing flavors or would be out of the scope of what I would be looking for. The portion size is good and doesn’t feel like the typical smaller gluten free portion. Beyond the food the service is spectacular! I order delivery as my hotel was on the other side of the Charles and they ran out of stock in one of the items I ordered and without any questions they refunded that item and gave me something else similar at no cost. A+ service and you have my gratitude. Oh and I mentioned that even though it’s a chilly November morning all my items arrived warm?! I hope I have another work trip or other reason to return to Boston so I can come back here again!"
"Such a gorgeous cafe. Honestly if you go without checking yelp first, it would've been hard to tell they're entirely gluten free. They do a great job making..."
