What People Are Saying
from Google"Best sandwich in Baltimore, hands down. This place is a MUST if you’re in the area, and even if you’re not honestly. Ingredients are fresh and recipes are thoughtfully and creatively prepared. I had the brisket roast beef sandwich which came on a plate with fresh sweet berries and chips. I’m going to dream about that sandwich until I can have it again. Owner Rob was incredibly kind and personable as well. We enjoyed walking around the shop and found a lot of really cool grocery items to buy like salty pistachio spread and lavender honey hazelnut butter. It was a delightful and delectable experience all around! We’ll be back ASAP. Edited to add a photo from our return visit - it didn’t disappoint!"
"The place is legit otherworldly. Inventive food menu items that hint strongly of international influences. From sandwiches to deserts, drinks and coffees, condiments and various other food options I hadn't time to explore without repeat visits, You enter the front door and become mesmerized by an immersing of familiar and new, quaint and curious, bold and satisfying; and even teasingly decadently delightful. The owners and staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is fresh. A must visit."
"Absolutely do give these lovely people lots of business when you can! Absolutely do NOT park in the nearby parking lot next to the dollar general store no matter how tempting that may be when your hungry & looking forward to a bite to eat. The spinach pie was delicious even though we arrived late in the afternoon looking for a quick lunch. The hospitality of Sylva & the staff was efficient, warm and engaging. Fortunately the fact we were visiting from out of town & had unknowingly parked in the predatory towing lot came up in conversation. Three older women in central Baltimore without their vehicle could have been disastrous. But Sylva and her husband quickly acted, assisting in locating my car, giving me a ride to the tow yard before it closed for the day & entertaining my mother & sister while I was gone. These folks not only provide delicious food & a variety of beverages. In our conversations I learned they are active in their community working for positive good. I hope the upcoming expansion to Little Italy this winter goes well & many more satisfied patrons enjoy their food & hospitality whether eating in, picking up pastries to go or using their catering services. Thanks again for a great lunch & turning around the horrible end to our fun day with kindness when least expected & most needed. ❣️"
"Good quality pie in the gourmet shop. A bit pricey. The menu will rotate every 2 days"
"I am so glad this place popped up on my maps when I searched for “bakery”. After reading reviews and looking at the photos, I told my boyfriend that if we visit this place, I’ll just be jealous we don’t have something like this back home (in NYC, nonetheless). And I was right - I walked into the storefront and found things I wanted, and hadn’t even made it five feet in. You can sense that the market items were selected on purpose; Sylva knew the origin story of each brand and what they’re known for. We picked up a salted caramel pandan syrup, and two different hot sauces. For the cooked food - we devoured a ham and cheese croissant, and an apple and cheese pastry (that I still think about today). We also got a chicken meat pie for later and it was delicious - lots of flavor. This is a place I could spend a few hours in and move from breakfast to lunch to early cocktail and dinner. We are planning another weekend trip to Baltimore and can’t wait to come back."
