from Google"Everything was amazing! The beans were some of the best I had, full of flavor. The rice was also delicious and perfectly cooked. The sandwich was pressed nicely with a generous amount of meat. The bacalaito was also tasty and my bf was very happy with it since it's one of his favorite foods! Overall, this is an awesome spot and I can't wait to go back!"
"Before heading home to New York, I decided to stop in at Owl’s Corner Cafe for a quick breakfast and I am so glad I did. The moment I walked in, the place felt completely authentic. Great music playing, a warm morning vibe, and a staff that made me feel welcome right away. You can even see the kitchen crew having fun and loving what they do, which just adds to the whole experience. The decor is incredible. I caught myself taking pictures before I even sat down. When I finally did, I ordered an omelet that was absolutely fantastic and paired it with a cup of coffee that hit the spot perfectly. What a great way to end my trip. I almost extended my stay just to try more of their dishes."
"Owl's Corner is amazing! Very difficult to find authentic Puerto Rican cuisine with the atmosphere of the island. This place hits home. Churrasco was delicious along with arroz con gandules. Could eat their tostones until I pass out. Friendly service from the moment I walked in the door. Bi-lingual servers for which I was grateful and very excited to practice my Spanish! Music had me dancing at my table (and I was alone 🤣). Can't wait to come back con mi madre!!! 🇵🇷❤️🇵🇷"
"I was really looking forward to trying this Puerto Rican restaurant, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing from start to finish. Every dish we tried lacked the authentic flavor and seasoning you would expect from Puerto Rican cuisine. We arrived at 11am and were very happy to see that they offered breakfast options. We ordered a ham and cheese omelet, and coffee. While the breakfast items were just okay, I was really excited to also try some of the traditional Puerto Rican dishes, since that’s what the restaurant is known for. The arroz con gandules was far from authentic. The rice was a mound of mush and, instead of gandules, they used green peas. The pernil was also a letdown. It was dry and lacked the bold seasoning that usually makes this dish so flavorful. Unfortunately it was all bland and uninspired, which was especially frustrating given how rich and vibrant this style of cooking should be. On top of that, the service was very unprofessional. The staff seemed unprepared and inattentive, and rather than creating a welcoming environment, it made the entire visit uncomfortable. To make matters worse, my interactions with the owners left me feeling uneasy. They came across as dismissive and untrustworthy, which makes it hard to want to return or recommend this place to others. Overall, the combination of flavorless food, poor service, and questionable management makes this a restaurant I cannot recommend. Puerto Rican cuisine deserves much better representation than what’s being offered here."
"Glad to have this wonderful family owned restaurant right down the street from me. They have an array of options including chicken, fish, pork or beef. They make the food fresh and it has those homemade flavors and quality. They served the food quickly and it was delicious. They are always more than welcoming when I come in and their coffee is wonderful! The cortadito comes in this tiny cup which is so cute! The mango smoothie came in the cutest cup with an umbrella and was as if they took the mango from the tree to make the smoothie. Highly recommend."
