What People Are Saying
from Google"Outstanding seafood experience from start to finish. Thames Street Oyster House truly lives up to its reputation. The quality and freshness of the seafood are exceptional, especially the oysters and raw bar selections, which are some of the best I’ve had. Every dish was perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The menu offers a great variety of seafood options that reflect true East Coast cuisine. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and inviting, with a classic yet relaxed vibe, and the upstairs seating with harbor views adds a special touch to the experience. The staff are knowledgeable, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, making the entire visit very enjoyable. Service was smooth and well-timed, and you can tell the restaurant is well managed. Prices are on the higher side, but they are absolutely justified by the quality, portion sizes, and overall experience. This is a must-visit spot for seafood lovers and a place I would happily return to again."
"First time in Baltimore and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this place! Our server was amazing. She knew the menu very well gave us amazing recommendations and overall the experience was great. We enjoyed oysters and of course a lobster roll. The lobster roll was perfect. It was perfectly cooked not tough and deliciously buttery. Thereafter, took a stroll by the waterfront. If you’re in the area, definitely a great place to stop and grab a bite."
"This was the best meal we had at Baltimore. The service was amazing. The octapus ceviche and oysters were my favourite. My partner really enjoyed the crab cakes but it was too rich for me. The calamari is greasy and I would recommend skipping it."
"I’ve been to this place many times with friends and their oysters are the best!!However, last time, we had a TERRIBLE experience. My friend and I had a late lunch so we were not that hungry but just craving for Thames oysters at 4:30 pm. We went, got seated, and ordered an appetizer and a dozen of oysters, planning to order main dishes later when we became hungry (and we did order two mains and more oysters in the end). The waitress was very unpleasant after we did our first order. Later, my friend accidentally spoiled some water on her pants, and two other staff came, one giving her a rag and the other wanting to give us new napkins, then our waitress came and asked the second staff to take away the napkins because she clearly did not think we deserve the napkins if we only ordered so little food…😅 Such a terrible experience but shout out to the other two staff who came to help immediately!!! Unfortunately, the tips we paid would still end up being in the pocket of that terrible waitress🤯"
"I think this was overall one of the best restaurants I've been to. The thing that stood out most was the service, which I would describe as Michelin-lite. Multiple employees even other than our main server coming by frequently to switch out silverware and used plates as soon as we were finished with something. Our main server was new, being shadowed by one of the managers. She did a great job and you would never be able to tell she just started so it seems the quality of the service here starts from the very beginning. There were some deals on happy hour oysters. There were 4 dipping sauces to choose from which added a lot of customization to the flavor. Being based in the DMV and used to the prices there, it really seemed like we got great value on the food. Not sure if the portion size to price ratio is good for Baltimore standards but at least for us we were very happy with what we got for the price. I can recommend all of the dishes we got, the Iceberg Summer Salad, Clam Roll and Scallops, all worth it in my opinion. I will say the two people seated near us both got the lobster roll and it looked really good as well."
