from Google"Let me just say this!!! Hootch and Banter is a vibe!!! Everything about this restaurant is simply awesome. I knew it was going to be great, when I saw a line forming 20 minutes before the restaurant opened. It was my first time dining here and it was worth the 1 hour drive from Arlington, Virginia. I loved it so much that I would drive back and forth again. First impressions are everything and upon entering, the host sat us at a nice table by the window. It was perfect. The host was very friendly. Now on to our waiter Corey H. Shout out to Corey. He was personable, friendly and offered great recommendations for drinks, entrees and desserts. I ordered a Moscow Mule and the Mediterranean Salad with chicken. My friend had the Carne Y Huevos Rancheros. The drinks and food were grrrrrreeeaaattt! For dessert Corey recommended the beignets and they were fantastic. I honestly can’t wait to return. The menu is amazing, ambience is cute and quaint, staff are friendly and it’s a great atmosphere. Tips: Get there early. The restaurant is first come/first served. Street and Garage Parking are available."
"Excellent service from start to finish and delicious food/drinks! We sat upstairs at the bar which was gorgeous with the natural lighting and exposed brick walls. Lots of Gluten-Free options available for those with allergies like myself. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from the turkey sandwich, but boy was that a mistake, because I cannot explain to you how GOOD this sandwich was. The fries are also incredible. Highly recommend for brunch or lunch in Fredrick!"
"We had a family brunch shortly before Christmas and the decorations and atmosphere at the upstairs were lovely! The holiday-themed cocktails were delicious and the crab-featured menu items were great. The food took a little while to come but we weren’t in a big rush. We came at weekend brunch time and there were plenty of people but it didn’t feel too crowded or noisy. Definitely recommend for a good brunch spot."
"The food was great, especially the Brussels sprouts — super tasty. Service was excellent, Amanda was very friendly and attentive. The burger was good, though I prefer a soft bun like a potato roll over the toasted one. Just a personal preference! Next time I’ll ask for that option. The place is small, but cozy. It doesn’t bother me, but some people might find being so close to others a bit uncomfortable when eating side by side."
"Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this place. We arrived around 1:55 PM and waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Then we were told to come back in 20 minutes—only to be called less than 10 minutes later that our table was ready. It just felt disorganized from the start. Our server changed halfway through the meal, and my “Banter” sandwich had no flavor or sauce and came on stale bread. Overall, the food lacked any real soul—maybe a 6/10 at best. The tres leches cake was decent, around 8/10. The mimosa, though, was served in such a tiny glass that it barely qualified as one. Overall, a poor experience. I wouldn’t return"
