"I paid $9 for a bowl of tomato flavored salty rice. NEVER AGAIN. I thought I would give myself a treat something nice after having a terrible experience at a hair salon. I saw this place and said, hey, i could get some jollof rice, but what I got instead was not jollof rice in any sense. Disappointed."

"This place is absolutely amazing! The food is incredibly delicious. I visited for the first time today and was welcomed with warm, friendly service. Everyone was in great spirits, and the atmosphere felt really positive. When I mentioned it was my first time, they kindly offered me a sample of curry chicken, brown stew, and oxtail over rice. Each one was full of flavor — so good that I had a hard time choosing! I ended up ordering the brown stew chicken with rice, cabbage, and a side of plantains. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The plantains were fresh off the stove — perfectly sweet and soft. I absolutely loved my experience here and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend giving them a try!"

"it’s just disappointing at this point. Went from great to you never know what to expect. It’s sad you order cassava leaf and you have curry chicken in your meal. This is not the first time. The last time it was jerk chicken. What if people are allergic to curry? or just don’t like curry! Just wrong! I suggest only going to the original one in DC"

"Outstanding food and great customer service. The food here is of Sierra Leone, Caribbean, Trinidadian fare. The oxtail and curry goat are my favorite dishes here. The food is always well seasoned, the meat or tender, and most importantly—the flavor is on point. Although a bit pricey, the portions are huge and more than enough for two people. Caution to those that are not fans of spicy food. The food here can go from mild to spicy for some people’s pallet, but for me, it is A+OK! I am a fan, and recommend this place!"

"PLEASE DON’T EAT HERE! The service is bad. The food is suspect. The chicken jerk I ordered was undercooked tough and mostly gristle and bone. They’re overcharging you for food that just doesn’t taste good. For the people who are looking at the reviews and see the 5 star ratings. They are extremely misleading. Please don’t be fooled. Do not spend your money at this establishment."
