"Absolute gem of a store! You need to experience it to fully appreciate it. There's no way a review can tell you what it is like but I will try. They sell Aroostook County frozen meats, honey, maple syrup and produce. Shelf stable Maine products include coffee, pickles, hot fudge and more. They have lots of little home goods that you could never find at the big box stores up here. They seem to be a local fav for coffee, pastries and lunch. The elephant ear (a cinnamon pastry) was to die for and we thoroughly enjoyed our light lunch there. One of us ordered a quinoa confetti salad and the other a bruschetta special on baguette. The atmosphere is so quaint and recalls a general store of the past but with a cozy artsy feeling. It's located in a historic storefront in the square downtown which adds to the wonderful ambiance."

"I came into Houlton for an oil change on my truck at 7am, only to find out that it would take longer than expected. I decided to take an early morning walk around downtown Houlton and discovered this little gem of a coffee shop-cafe-gift shop open for business. I was greeted by friendly staff that made you feel welcome and provided table service for that delicious piece of apple cake that I ordered at the counter. The cake was accompanied by one of their four, hot, fresh coffees they had available, to include decaf coffee! I highly recommend The County Co-Op for that early morning start up if you live locally or are just passing through the Houlton area."

"Love this little place! Lots of local items and other great merchandise. A little bit of everything from crafts and gifts to spices and tea. Great sandwiches and baked goods. The vibe is always so happy, warm and welcoming. The staff is pleasant and friendly. I come once a month for the tomato pesto grilled cheese and I highly recommend it!"
