What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"I was passing thru and stopped for a coffee. I almost missed this little gem because it was tucked in the back lot. From the moment I walked in, I knew this place was special. It was very cozy, with a mix of leather furniture, comfy chairs and tables and a long wooden table with benches. It immediately invited me in, where I noticed several people camped out with laptops, coffee and baked goods. The staff apologized for the delay, as they'd just gotten a large order for breakfast sandwiches. But they got me my iced coffee which I prepared while I waited for my breakfast sandwich. I asked at the register for dairy free options, which they have oat and almond milk. I ordered an egg and bacon sandwhich on their "mystery" bagel which they said was a Chicago something or other seasoning. (I later found out it tasted like Chicago steak seasoning and was sooo scrumptious!) There was a couple in the back doing the cooking and a couple of younger kids in the front of the house taking the orders, preparing bagels and getting baked goods. They worked fast and efficiently, and were very pleasant. When my sandwich was ready, the lady who prepared it hand walked it over to me, but she said it was a bacon, egg & cheese. I politely mentioned I didn't order the cheese. She felt awful that they'd prepared it wrong, and apologized profusely for the extra wait, even throwing in some extra bacon. And we're not talking about regular thin strips. This was thick cut, cured perfectly and cooked to perfection. The bagel was not the usual dense, doughy, chewy kind. It was airy, and buttery, with nooks and cranies, perfectly toasted. I also got a raspberry scone with a lemon drizzle, to enjoy later in my road trip. (It was so tasty, I wish I'd gotten the blueberry as well!) I would definitely return, next time I am in that area, and can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for delicious coffee and food with a welcoming atmosphere, and staff who go above and beyond to assure their guests have a happy & memorable experience!"
"Cuppa Jo is the finest place to have breakfast anywhere on Route 1, from Key West to Caribou (does anyone know how Caribou got its name?). The mystery spice bagel is wonderfully aromatic of Middle Eastern spices, and when you slap a couple of perfectly cooked eggs and a slice of Swiss on that bad boy, your mouth will thank you all day. The dark roast coffee -- served in artisanal, ornate mugs -- is delicious, and the employees bring varsity-level hospitality skills to bear. Chat them up about anything from 1960s funk to 19th century Chinese culture, and you'll come away learning something. One thousand stars for Cuppa Jo and its superb crew!"
"Had a great Cafe Latte and a delicious Bagel at Cuppa Jo's. I would definitely come back next time in town."
"This little gem of a coffee shop is a must when in Yarmouth, ME! The woman who started this thriving business is passionate about coffee and it shows. They do small batch coffee bean roasting on site which must be why the coffee is so amazing! Take some home to keep your enjoyment going. They also have home made trail mix, Greek yogurt parfait, and assorted bagels and pastries if your hungry. I enjoyed a latte with 3 shots. So wonderful..."
"A perfect local gem - Cuppa Jo’s nails it. Stopped in for a quick bite and walked out thoroughly impressed. I ordered a cappuccino and an egg & cheese on a bagel, and both absolutely hit the spot. The cappuccino was smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced - not too bitter, not too milky - just right. You can tell they care about their coffee craft. But the real surprise? The egg & cheese bagel. Simple on paper, but Cuppa Jo’s executes it with just the right toast, melty cheese, and that fresh, satisfying bite that makes you want to order a second one. Atmosphere? Warm and welcoming. Staff? Friendly and quick. It’s the kind of place you want to become a regular at. If you're nearby and craving a real breakfast sandwich and a quality coffee - don’t think twice. Cuppa Jo’s is the spot."
"This place was very busy on a Saturday morning but worth the wait. They ran out of bagels by 10am (understandable because they are delicious) so I got an..."
