What People Are Saying
from Google"The staff is very kind and friendly! I know I can depend on them to make the drinks I want and I always feel respected and taken care of. I love that it’s connected to the library too. I appreciate that upper management cares about the cleanliness and flow of their stores. I’ve seen them take orders, wash windows, and support their staff with care. It’s one of my favorite places to be in Ann Arbor!"
"Used to be my favorite go to for coffee. I bought earlier this week (today is 11/08/25) an Ice Creamy Double Frappe..... This was basically a normal ice coffee with a tiny bit of melted ice cream in it and it was given in the smallest cup. I drunk it all at once. Usually it's nice and thick, this was slightly thicker than water. And because I don't like making a scene I just took it and left. But unfortunately will not return."
"I went here last weekend to grab a quick coffee and ended up staying longer than I planned. The place has a nice cozy vibe, and the staff were really friendly. I ordered a caramel latte and a blueberry muffin—both were really good. The coffee was smooth and not too strong, just how I like it. It wasn’t too crowded, so it was easy to find a seat and relax for a bit. Prices were fair for the quality. Overall, a nice little spot if you want a quiet place to enjoy your coffee."
"I really do like Sweetwaters for the options and varieties of drinks and foods. I found this place years ago when I visited Ann Arbor from Toledo for a meeting I was going to hear. Over the last few months I have visited one location the most in Ann Arbor because every coffee shop closes by 9pm in Toledo except for a few on the weekend that remain open thirty minutes later. So I decided to start driving to Ann Arbor and spend time until closing at this location to enjoy coffee and food in a different type of atmosphere. Unfortunately, the quality of how Sweetwaters once was has changed dramatically since COVID fully ended several years ago. One of the biggest issues I have is drinks being served at the countertop without a lid. It is up to the customers now to put lids on their beverages. Watching people wait for their drinks with sneezes and occasional spit in natural conversation coming out of their mouths naturally getting on exposed drinks is unnecessary. In addition, on two different occasions I was told I couldn’t sit anymore on the tables I was seated at outside because they had to lock them up an hour and a half before closing. And lastly, i wanted to get fresh brewed coffee one time at 10:15 as their pot had been brewed at least 45 minutes prior and was lukewarm at best and I was denied that and had to get an Americano instead. As an outlier I also have witnessed next to no interactions with baristas with customers here with any kind of warmth and at times the overflowed seating area closed well before the end of the night when it was somewhat crowded still. I sincerely hope the manager of this establishment will read this and know that changes could be made to improve the place to the glory it once held with coffee and tea establishments in Ann Arbor."
"Great place! Went here for breakfast and got some ginger raspberry iced tea that I highly recommend along with a spinach feta wrap, also amazing! The staff were incredibly personable and helpful. Lots of comfortable seating focused on conversation and a lively environment that does a good job helping you start your day itself. 💯 ❤️"
