"Akira was a fabulous batista - cheerful, gave good recommendations & made us feel welcomed. This cafe has SUCH a chic & bright atmosphere that you cannot help but to feel joy the instant you walk in. I also liked how it was connected to madnice restaurant but you're not bothered by it's close quarters. I bought the fun lighter ice cream holder too on my 2nd visit - which was the very next day - I HAD to come back!"

"I’ve still never been to the Mad Nice restaurant, but the cafe side is a great morning study spot! The drinks are always on-point, and the house-made bagels and cream cheeses are just 😋 I love it. "We were in Detroit for the weekend and our Airbnb was just across the street from Mad Nice, so we went just after we checked in… and then went every morning of our trip! I tried a seasonal iced Gingerbread latte and it was amazing! The overall vibe of the coffee shop and restaurant was so cute. Easily one of my favorite coffee shops of all the places I’ve visited. I hope to try the restaurant on our next Detroit trip."

"Came in on Sunday morning before we had to drive back to Ohio and we waited almost an hour for our drinks. Watched other drinks go out before ours, and the one, tiny counter was also providing specialty coffees for the restaurant attached. It was so unorganized they kept asking people what their orders were, and then kept taking more orders instead of making drinks compounding the problem. I usually try to be understanding and not leave negative reviews, but this was extremely frustrating. Drinks were ultimately good, but would never come back."

"Wouldn’t recommend. Absolutely stunning decor and atmosphere, but the service was severely lacking. They were polite, but highly disorganized with abmysal communication. A few friends & I came in for six coffee drinks, a bagel and a muffin to go, and were there for 50 minutes. The employee taking orders was also responsible for making most of the drinks (until occasionally someone else would come help), and she just kept taking more and more orders without ever stopping to actually make drinks. Drinks were made very out of order, and other groups who came after us (and also had espresso drinks that required a shot to be pulled) left before us. We also saw 3+ drinks need to be remade. The cashier who took my order tries to tell her coworker that we didn’t order it iced, which is incorrect. I specified it twice."
