from Google"My best and friend and I came up from Cleveland for a weekend in Detroit. After doing much research about different restaurants to go to, we decided to come to Midnight Temple because the vibes looked great. I made a reservation online but they didn’t even ask for my name, we just got seated immediately (you get to pick wherever you want to sit). Off the bat the vibes were great. There was moderately loud music and the lights are very colorful to match the vibe but they’re like muted colors so it’s not super in your face. For drinks, my friend got the Hidden Temple. She rates it a 7/10 and it is VERY strong. I got a mule (can’t remember the name of it but it started with a K) I give it 8/10. For appetizers, we got the Pani Puri & the chicken Tikka Rollups. We didn’t love the Pani Puri due to the dipping sauce being cold (i know it’s supposed to be that way) it just wasn’t our cup of tea. However, the tikka rollups were AMAZING!!! like seriously one of the best things i’ve ever had in my life 10/10. For dinner, I got butter chicken masala (not on the menu but i asked if they had it) it comes with rice and it was seriously some of the best butter chicken i’ve had ever. the sauce was a little bit sweeter than usual but in a good way. 10/10 for sure. My friend got the chicken biryani which she rates 8/10. It came with a yogurt sauce that was phenomenal and i actually asked for an extra side for myself. She gives it an 8 because it doesn’t come with any sauce (we know it’s not supposed to come with sauce) but it was a little bit dry without sauce. but the flavors were amazing she said and the chicken was super tender and not dry at all. (the chicken comes on a bone btw it’s 2 chicken legs). We also each got a side of naan. I got the butter naan and she got the garlic naan. I would give it 8.5/10, it was very good but mine was a little bit burnt on the bottom of some pieces. I think the garlic naan was better than the butter naan. For dessert we got the Kulfi which the flavor was vanilla. We give it a 6.5/7 out of 10. It was good but nothing amazing. Definitely give this place a try!!!!"
"Visited for the first time with a good friend and was instantly impressed with the stairway up and the ambiance and atmosphere. Elton was awesome and recommended some great food options and gave some good info on the preparation. We had the chicken curry, the wings, and the vindaloo. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend"
"Walk through the door and up the stairs, and you are immediately captured by a world of wonder that hghithens your senses. We had an amazing evening at Midnight Temple — the place is truly unique in the Detroit scene, with a perfect blend of authentic spicy food, a warm atmosphere, great lounge music, and the genuine cordiality of the staff. The owner has the charm and talent to bring all of this together. Well done!"
"Absolutely loved my experience here. It’s not your typical Indian restaurant - more of an Indian gastropub with bold flavours, creative cocktails, and a lively, energetic vibe. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a modern, reimagined India. Highly recommend checking it out! Also love the Name “Midnight Temple”"
"This was such a unique experience. You’re surrounded by beautiful paintings, colorful decor, and cultural books that you can read. Their menu is labeled what’s gluten free or vegan, and I had their mild Saag which was really good. It had a very sweet but earthy taste to it. Our server was very nice and he danced with us near the DJ booth after we were done eating. I will be back!"
